Solve your computer problem with the help of experts!

Is it IE 6 or IE 7?

Try this:
Go to the desktop, right click, and click on New>Shortcut.

In the window that opens, type this : C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
(assuming that your windows is installed in the C:\)
Press Next, and Press Finish.

This should create the Shortcut for Internet Explorer.

Top work mate, it's all good now!

Good that it worked :) There is another way, which uses registry editor. In that case, if you right click on the icon, and select properties, the Internet Properties window opens. It behaves like it is the actual icon, and not a shortcut.
If the shortcut is fine, then no need for attempting this imo :)

Hi, I have another problem. Tonight, AVG Anti Virus turned up this virus:

Win32/PEPatch.CA in path: C:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$\sens.dll

What is the best thing to do, just delete it, or can that cause harm, since it's been found in C:\WINDOWS ?

Please reply asap!

Edit: I tried using this: http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/index.php

but it says that my computer doesn't allow ActiveX installations, or something like that. How do I turn them on, or is this solution not worth pursuing?

Well the file is in the service pack uninstall archives, it looks like that. So I guess if you don't want to uninstall the latest service pack you can safely delete the file. :)

That's a relief, as I did end up deleting the file. All clear now and everything seems to be working fine!

I usually run service packs with /nobackup switch unless installing them on the servers :p

In the event of a .dll file being infected, can you download a clean copy from Microsoft, in case it's a file you actually need?
