get a new SMPS. your comp runs dead slow with those occasional stuttering. Happened to me last time around, was exposed to dust very much.

How much of a role does the processor play, because that one had a 2.6Ghz processer where as the ones you linked to 'only' had 2.3 Ghz. What's kind of the defining factor of how fast FM would run? Combo of RAM and processor speed?

Mhmm, don't know why my post didn't appear.

Well anyway, in short. Your sort of right. While a number indicating the speed of a processor is essential, you must take into account the efficiency of the CPU itself. ie. a 3Ghz+ CPU will be outperformed by a 2/-.5Ghz+ CPU of todays standard.

As for FM, I'd say your about right. The physical memory needed to run FM isn't that high though. Its just for the simulating aspect of FM that the CPU becomes a factor in speed.

Most likely I would say it is a PSU problem. Generally they shut off to prevent overheating. Could be a dust problem, to which I'd advise an annual clean up of the internal components. Otherwise it'd be a mechanical failure which you'd have to RMA or replace it. There are other reasons but are less likely. ie. Power cables not inserted correctly or a virus (unlikely). Are you aware of anything that may have caused this to occur?

Has there been any further events?

Has anybody experienced a hard disk space issue with Windows 7? I have a memory of 460 with a free space of 303 and when I double click the my computers icon, it calculates everything in my hard drive to be about 450GB of data. However, it tells me there's only 69 GB available. Is there something I'm forgetting or should calculate all sizes in the Hard Disk window tell exactly how much data is on my drive? Has anyone had this experience with Window 7 before? Any ideas or solutions?

I got a USB 3.0 PCI-E Card which works well however I can't seem to shut down properly. When I shut down my keyboard lights go off but I get stuck on the shut down screen. When I uninstall the driver everything works fine.

You're going to find it hard to buy a decent laptop for under 300 pounds. On that laptop there you won't be able to play any games that require a graphics card because it has none. So that's most games. Football Manager should work though. It also has a pretty weak processor and old RAM, but that's what you get when you're looking in that price range.

If FM works and I can browse the internet without any problems then I'm happy. That's all I'm really gonna do on it. Other games were ICC etc, would they not work either?

ICC should work and the internet will work just fine. Most games don't officially support integrated cards however.

Thanks. I think I'm gonna go for it. I don't need a top of the range laptop and this one is pretty good value for money I think.

Don't. Spend 24 pounds more and purchase this.

Make the jump in the processor, whether or not its only an i3 (Not a low end M model either, its a 380M) is regardless. Its performance is more than that of a Pentium. Trust me. Otherwise its 3GB RAM and 320GB is more than sufficient.

By the way, Mario, you haven't listed your GPU in that message you sent me.

Oh and by the way, Ollie, which notebook/laptop did you end up purchasing?

Anyone knows where I can get the vibration drivers for my LZE (Chinese) Dual Shock gamepad?

It's a PS2 style controller. I got the vibration to work on my last system (Windows XP), but that particular driver doesn't work on my current OS - Windows 7 64-bit.
