South Africa in England July-Sept 2012

Interesting that apparently he was told not to post the youtube video of him apologising but did anyway :rolleyes

Ah. Well I will say that if England somehow manage to win the 3rd test it will only prove the sports psychologists right, and it would be quite extraordinary in the sporting world for that to happen (assuming no one singlehandedly wins the game for England).

Does seem somewhat amusing to see Strauss so desperately stressing the importance of team unity... I guess he must seeing as he doesn't contribute runs :spy

The ECB. Press releases are meant to go through them.

After all the leaks and the breaches of trust there was no way KP could or should trust the ECB not to distort what he wanted to say.

Right so

Strauss
Cook
Trott
Bell
Taylor
Prior
Bresnan
Broad
Swann
Anderson
Onions

I know Bres hasn't been wonderful with the ball but I'd rather have him at 7 if Prior is going to be at 6. We must take twenty wickets so 5 bowlers seems essential.

Who is going to replace Strauss at the top when he goes?

That's the team I'd least like to see.

For me:

Strauss
Cook
Trott
Bell
Taylor
Prior
Bairstow / Bresnan
Broad
Swann
Anderson
Finn

Also I think Joe Root looks like the heir apparent to Strauss' position as opener.

Thats exactly what KP has done throughout the episode.

I think he was actually more leaked again than leaking over the contract talks.

Expecting England to stick with 6-1-4 so imagine final place will be between Bresnan and Finn. On Headingley form you'd have to go with Finn England can be funny about picking bowlers for their batting.

I dunno, I think on form maybe you don't pick either one. There's room in the squad and maybe it's the Hail Mary they need to try. To be honest, I'd really be hoping for a better wicket through which Anderson might be effective, but given that it's late in the season and at Lords, it's like hoping for Bob Willis to feel love.

Please will one of the administrators of this forum come to their senses and throw all this crap about one man out to another thread!

This thread is about South Africa versus England. I am sure that most of you will agree (Poms and Crims included) that this twoddle talk about Pietersen is very boring now. He is crap anyway.

People are very quick to forget that India refused to back the concept of 20-20 until they saw it had been a success and promptly launched their own league when they recognised the financial rewards that were on offer. There's a reason they went so big early on, regardless of whether it was corrupt or mismanaged. The transparancy was irrelevant against the need to assume control of the potential cash cow.

Yea basically.

This is worth a read.

Frustrating read.:facepalm

Thats exactly what KP has done throughout the episode.

According to reports, it was the ECB who leaked to media his discussions with them to the media, even before KP sent these so called texts the proteas players about ENG players.
