South African Tour of the West Indies, May-June 2010

Poor WI finally get their batting together and SA chase it down with ease. Amla is making a name for himself in this tour, will be good seeing how he goes against us whenever we play SA next.

The one time the batsman set a good total the bowlers struggle. Have to say that without Taylor and Roach the bowling lacks venom and there is nobody there to get the key wickets.
I see that the entire A team is back, why not give Tonge a shot in the last ODI.

I am more confident with the tests then ODIs and 20/20. With all the dot balls in ODIs there shouldn't be any problem in tests.

WI lost from the moment Bravo brothers dropped those JP catches in a row

The way Darren Bravo batted actually had Lara's resemblance - Footwork, shot hittings, attacking technique etc :)

Yep, played some magnificent shots, even some of the ones that went for one or zero. Might lack a bit on the leg side, though.

I guess the bowling was never going to be at its best, but it is unfortunate to see that they had a chance until their indiscipline caught up with them.

Well one thing is for certain, Gayle was so pissed at Benn yesterday that he asked him to leave the field. We will be seeing a new face replacing Benn in the name of Shane Shillingford!!!

The lazy 6'7 Benn finally pissed everyone off that Gayle had to send his ass of the field.
I am happy that Shillingford will get a chance, he did well on the tour of Bangladesh and hopefully he does well in the final ODI and maybe gets a go in the tests.

Wait what happened??

"I actually asked him to leave the field,' Gayle told reporters after the game. "As a captain, it was a situation like you ask a particular bowler to do it and he said he had never done certain things before. That's why you have practice sessions, to practise. I asked him to simply bowl over the wicket. I don't see why it should be a problem.

"He wasn't up for it and if you're not up for it, why give that particular bowler the ball. I just see it that he [Benn] doesn't want to take part. It was my call to actually ask him to leave and tell him that he is not needed anymore."

Wow, Gayle was right. You can't refuse captains orders on the field. Thats like a soldier disobeying orders in battle.

Booo Ben

In fact it is the Test side he was called up for, Miller might still play the final ODI, but Shane will be in the test squad, and get into the XI as well!!
I am happy for my home boy, if he does well we could see him playing here on his home soil soon!!
