Does anyone know of good Spyware or Adware removal tools that you don't have to pay for, basicly download, scan and remove?

The ones you can download for free are rubbish and do not detect alot of virus's,adware and spyware

Ad-Ware SE is free and I can recommend it also Microsoft Antispyware Beta, I think its still free to download

Just a spyware remover that will remove most of the useless stuff. I've already got a competant anti-virus program, all I need is a useful spyware remover.

Thanks, it looks promising so far just this bit bothers me 'you're just a few clicks away from your free* copy of...' its freeware but... ah well if it does the job im happy!

I think you should go out and buy norton anti virus

He said he already has antiv-virus software. Besides anti-virus software will not help with spyware. To be safe you need Anti-virus, Anti-Spy and Firewall (Also Popup-blocker), each have different functions. Do not think if you have anti-virus software you are fully protected. You also need to keep up to date with the upgrades.

Norton anti virus has all of those

Think you mean Norton Internet Security and as far as I know it only contains 2 of the programs I mentioned (Antivirus and Firewall)

Spybot is the best software to remove the spyware and adware.

Spybot
Spyware Doctor
Microsoft Anti-Spyware

Thanks guys, im now using Ad-Aware SE, although it doesnt show an as detailed summary as Spyware Doctor does.. I would have used Spyware Doctor but couldn't be bothered to register.

And on buying Norton, I don't have the amount of money that is almost equal to the price of a low end pc, just thought I should say that.

I think Microsoft antispyware is expired after 30th july, don't know what is after that. Ad aware and spybot the other 2 good tools
