hope same thing would happend to india !!!! IPL is killing cricket.... and India will have to be resposible for killing this beautiful game :facepalm
Well, yes in a way but let's face it...your players are not loyal enough. :p

Is the SLPL a test league intended to repair the damage caused by the IPL or something...? Honestly, didn't bother to check the details.

Anyway,it was just one pathetic session,I'm sure the batsmen will put up a good fight in the next test, though not sure about the bowlers.

Who told those SL players to play IPL?:rolleyes
They were attracted by the $$$$$$.;)
No one forced them to play it.

That?s why I don?t blame BCCI and IPL only, cricketers must be more responsible for their actions,?. And ICC is doing nothing at all, how ever mark my words.,, India will be responsible for killing cricket for their personal gains

today a proud nation lost and was embarrassed, and it millions of fans got hurt!!! Thank you India

You are welcome.

You make some very valid points mai bruther which I totally agree with, but in reality,it's the ICC's fault for not providing a separate 4 month (including the rest period) window.
Thang you ICC,thang you for embarrassing...blah blah...and hurting its fans.

i have just 3 words to say- wow, wow and just wow!

Brilliant performance for England. Looks like India-Eng series is going to be much more exciting than India-SA series last December.

Watch out for the thing we call “ Karma” you tend to get what you give
Don't cry over split milk. It's not like IPL is only harming SL Team. The only players I remember playing in IPL were Dilshan, Jayawardene, Sanga and Perera and they were only players who reached double figures in 2nd innings. Adding to the fact that they left IPL early they were expected to perform better and they did in 1st innings. Taking nothing away on all the hate on IPL but this is just lame excuse when your team is responsible itself for their damage. I would be on your side, had they played like this in 1st innings also.

Rahul , you have to realize the fact that they didn't get to play the 2 warmups they were supposed to . They just played the Lions match with the first test scheduled three days later . How's that gonna help your match practice? And its spilt milk btw . :p

sri lanka also played a warm up match against middlesex before the lions game (andrew strauss made 150 in the same match btw)...

Yea but not a full strength SL team , with the likes of Chandimal & Thirimane playing instead of their veterans Sanga & Jaya . Plus they played the net bowlers of Middlesex in a featherbed wicket . The England Lions match was their only solid practice match heading into the first test .

admittedly not full strength, however that side still contained 8 of the side from the 1st test (jayawardene and sangakarra arrived in england afterward the game, and perera didn't play either)

the lions game only hade 7 out of the cardiff line up playing...

Injuries and fitness issues my friend , Pradeep and Fernando were certain to start in Cardiff , had it not been for their fitness issues...
