Manager Hooper said:04/03/2008 (First Class)
Another day, another First Class match. Today we traveled down south to JC Stadium to play the Jaguars. Its billed as a boring match with our team clear favourites. The pitch is hard and fast and the Sun is shining. Perfect day for Cricket here in Western Australia.
St Michele CC have picked:
Kent
Mattheus
Bennett
Boardman
Mcintyre
Poulter
Scarlett
Knight
Corcoran
Daly
Otoole
The match started well with Knight and Otoole opening the bowling aggressively.
0.4 W Knight to Holdsworth
He's out! That was a disgraceful shot. It was a wide ball and he's had a little dabble and gifted Scarlett a catch.
1.6 W Otoole to Aubrey
Aubrey is trapped in front. A lightning fast finger from the umpire sends him back to the pavilion, but Hawk-eye is showing the ball might have gone over middle stump.
2.1 W Knight to Ndungane
OUT! Ndungane completely missed it. Great bowling by Knight, he really drove it through the gap and out goes middle stump.
And from here they had no hope as our bowlers all worked together yet again, each claiming at least 2 scalps, with Knight grabbing 3.
After 50 overs of awesome bowling Kent and Mattheus came out on a mission to smash these mediocre bowlers all over the park...and they did their job well, putting on an unbeaten stand of 311 so far from just 53 overs.
The openers both brought up hundreds with easy singles, both hundreds scored at a fast rate.
30.1 1 Dunfield to Mattheus
Nudged the ball on the leg side and scampered through for a single. Great running.
And that's a century for Mattheus! Well played indeed Sir!
43.6 1 Van zyl to Kent
Played out to extra cover for the single.
And that's a century for Kent! Well played indeed Sir!
Tomorrow we will try to wrap the match up to save our players fitness for important matches coming up in the next week or so. Both batsman at the crease will be pushing on to move to bigger scores hopefully. Follow on.

04/03/2008 (First Class) Jaguars v St Michele CC Won
Wrapped up our First Class match today against the Jaguars. Was an easy victory, all bowlers bowled well, all batsman who batted scored big - form is good here at St Michele CC. The scorecard tells the full story...Pure dominance from our fast bowlers early on, with spinner Corcoran doing damage. Then opening batsman Mattheus and Kent dominating with a staggering 481 run opening stand.
Up next THE 11 APOSTLES in an OD match we aren't going to win, so player fitness will be saved for this Sunday's match against Gamerkid.
