Steam update for DBC17 released

Not really sure how I got nuked from orbit :-/

I download some more players from my retro teams and now they're not available to to be added to my custom team, can't find them at all. Incredibly frustrating, cbf anymore

I know the cause of and solution to this.

I'm not a beta tester but I've played these incremental updates and provided feedback on them. Whether I've been listened to directly, indirectly (via beta testers) or not at all, I can see changes that relate to things that I've talked about; AI fields and today it looks like something about confidence which I'm really excited to have a look into. I don't know or care if it's because of me but I'm just glad things are happening. I'm sure if things aren't being addressed there's a reason: time, priority, etc.

This thread is huge, there's tonnes of feedback and it'd be crazy to think that any good feedback is ignored. Big Ant aren't going to go 'oh we'll ignore that because so and so said it, they're not one of our favourites.'

Like others have said the priority is gameplay. Rome wasn't built in a day. If '17 can nail the game play as best it can, then the next iteration of the game (I'm assuming there will be one otherwise why would BA put this much effort into fixing '17 when they've already got people's money) can iron out the little niggling things that don't look right but don't stop people from playing. There are a lot of animations that can be improved upon to make it look more real but these are the sorts of things that are irrelevant if the game isn't playing well.

Now - why haven't Big Ant put in Kit Sharing yet? If this isn't in by the time patch 4 is finalised I'm going to know they are not giving me exactly what I want and blame @blockerdave @Llewelynf and the rest of you Betas.

They haven't put it in because I said so, and you can blame me for that. ;)[DOUBLEPOST=1494929656][/DOUBLEPOST]

You're not going to share it are you?

I'm going to stream the new build. Twitch

I am working though, so it will have to be AI v AI on veteran. Not ideal but all I can do right now.

Yeah I like to speed the bowling up a bit, looks a bit floaty otherwise. Whether this has an effect on how the AI behaves I have no idea.

not with him ;)

i've noticed all the DBC14 players were linked incorrectly. and sometimes even unlinked DBC14 players come into DBC17 with a random link. so when you're importing a DBC14 player you should always ignore when they say "you already have a version of xxxxxx" and just create new as custom player. you can then do any necessary linking.

Never saw this side of you teacher!! Very well put. :) I appreciate all the efforts you, team and BA put in. Millions of thanks for all that. Just can't stand some superior souls at times, that's entirely my issue though. You're still pretty cool! ;)

What an arrogant post this is. You squeal about 3-4 people getting what they want but then rant on about you not getting what YOU want. Firstly, the group of beta testers, which I am proudly part of, literally gave up their own time to test out almost every day I might add, and give thorough feedback, based on every issue on the forum. Trust me, many of them were ridiculous at times and yet BA were willing to listen and serve the community. Up until this morning we have responded to posts like yours and tested and ultimately made suggestions to BA. Your requests in the greater scheme of things are minuscule and can be ironed out later, as @Langeveldt (not a beta tester by the way) stated gameplay was and always should be key. Shot selection, AI mentality, pitch influence, edge frequency, bat pads, field placing etc are far more important than hats and sleeves...

How have you contributed to this community other than whine about what you want? Not to blow my own horn, but I have dedicated hundreds of hours to serving the community by creating teams to make the game better. You?

I agree sleeves and vest would be awesome and add a realism that we as cricket supporters crave, but... and this is a big but, the current templates and aesthetics would have not been sufficient for long sleeves. I know, I have been working on kits forever. I personally, despite my love for visual realism, which is obvious at times, prefer having BA spend valuable resources on gameplay and a cricket game, not a visual studio for petty bystanders that do not really contribute but rather whinge.

There are multiple people from Big Ant that are paid to read all the posts here, and unlike myself, they even have to put up drivel that I would ignore. I often question them about posts on here and I keep them honest - if I don't think they're taking posts seriously enough then I certainly let them know in no uncertain terms. That said, you guys sometimes hang me out to dry - I often bring up points from posts here that just aren't true or are greatly exaggerated, such posts make both you, and I, look stupid when I raise them with my guys - if you are posting an issue or having a whine then make sure you are 100% certain of your findings.

So, all posts are read, and if *we at Big Ant* feel that something absolutely needs to be put into a patch, and we have the resource to do it, then we will. The process is a considered one, the Beta group don't always get what they want either, they are certainly to be commended for their dedication to the greater cricket gaming community.
