I don't know if faces will be editable in this game, but if they are, can you make sure there's a dedicated folder in the installation for new or downloadable faces? EA's method, where you chuck everything (including faces, stumps, pitchads etc)into the game's root folder is just daft. My Cricket 07 has decided to stop working, so I have to try to reinstall it and replacing all those faces/stumps/whatever will be a right pain. If each thing had it's own dedicated folder, I could just cut them out of the Ckt 07 folder and paste them into the folder of the new installation.

Hope it's all going well, LM!

If i can make a suggestion it would be that, the batsmen can walk down as much as they can, and you dont just have to stay in your crease like circ07

Proably wishing too much, but could we get a roster update through cricinfo. harrypotterfan said he could do it. (for cric 07 though) there is a thread on it in the circ07 forum

You are being flippant, but studies have shown that against the very fastest bowlers, batsman have to react before they 'know' where the ball will pitch and so there is instinct going into watching the wrist position and action to try and guess where the ball may pitch, as well as, of course noting the early path of the ball.

Harrowdrive.com says that the difference between an international batsman and club batsman in dealing with fast bowling is not so much reflexes but knowing where the ball is going to pitch earlier. Barry Richards is one who is renowned for possessing this trait to a higher level than even his international peers. Sachin Tendulkar is another who is brilliant at picking up certain bowlers' bouncers.

Barry Richards said that he used a method to decide on the length of a ball before the bowler let the ball go. If his arm was vertical, it was a good length, if it was back of vertical it was full, and if it was past vertical it was a short ball.

Also, remember that none of us are international cricketers, and we also don't have the third dimension to help us, therefore we need to be given a bit of help.

Definately, the marker should come before the delivery - I just went off on a tangent.

oh my soo troo
it wud be much better if u cud organize it so we no which file is which especially for noobs lke me

I don't think you should know where the ball is going before it is actually bowled, nobody is that good :p.

I agree and a great addition to the batting system would be having the ability to move in the crease after the ball is bowled. It's such a pain in EA Ckt 07 that you can't move after a certain point. Maybe have one stick to move your man and the other to make the stroke?

I think there should be no movement before the ball is bowled. The EA way is you move up until and point then you cannot move. I think it would be better if you held a button down to move up, down, left or right, but you don't move until the bowler is about to release it.

Basically, holding the button doesn't move the person, rather, if you are holding a move button at a certain point, just before the ball is released, your batsman makes his move as part of the shot.

This would be more realistic as batsmen generally don't shuffle around during the run-up, but play shots where they step away to leg and hit through off (as an example) all in one motion.

The bowlers would then need a way to counteract that, so the bowler should be able to move the aim at this same point (using the same buttons). Again, holding the button just before release means that the pitch point is "nudged" a certain amount. So if you see the batsman about to step away to play, you could chase him with the ball, or bowl it too wide to hit, or bowl a little bit shorter.

This would make bowling better than the current "set pitch point, watch batsman hit shot", and the batting better than the current "look for pitch point, play shot". This would be better for creating exciting situations towards the end of ODI games.

that is really good.

also for cricket 07 i implemented my idea of not having the arrows that show how much swing is on the ball. So you dont know if its going to come into you or move away. I and the others that used that patch of mine said they got much more variation. Any chance of implementing this into the game.

actually instead of deleting it completly, can you make it as an option so you can turn it on and off.

here is a preview of what i did for cricket 07.

you can see the ball is moving right but no arrow comes up.
