Ever played Gaelic? It's awesome :). A nice blend between soccer and AFL...
So is WA really crazy about AFL? It's growing over here, but I can't see it ever becoming huge, as it'll take some very poor player or crowd behaviour (:p) to dethrone League....

well the actions of Bulldogs supporters should be enough to dethrone it then :p

to answer youre questions jim...yes WA is AFL crazy, but so is Victoria and SA and it has already spread to Tassie, it is growing alot faster than league.

and yes i have played gaelic, at school because AFL was too rough and they wanted the girls to participate so we had to play gaelic, it was pretty fun actually, not as brutal and quite fast.

Lol Giteau isn't made for AFL. Latham is the best punter of the ball followed by a much improved Hewart.

I wonder where Gasiner would play in the Wallabies if he did switch. All the spots are taken. The ARU should be poaching forwards.

-Stevo: I doubt many of the Melbournians are actually aware that they have a side in the NRL ;)
-I think the actions of the Bulldogs supporters actually help the game to be honest.....:p
I didn't know it was spreading through TAS, but that's good news, as long as RL is confined to as little a space as possible the future will be in good stead ;)
Gaelic is cool, we play it as a practical part of Sports Science, but myself and a few others just play soccer alone within the game, it prevents the need of bouncing the ball :p
EDIT: Aussie1st- Poaching forwards sounds perfectly practical as the backline doesn't have a problem in general, but the change in codes for the forwards will probably ruin their career. There are so many technicalities and rules in the Union forward pack that they've become accustomed to their whole career, so making such a drastic change will tear the mind in two, and to add to that the running angles will be very different- in summary, they'll end up doing very strange things....

haha dont like to bounce the ball jim? :p

personally i dont like to soccer side of it, i always like the pleasure of burying my shoulder into an opponents chest :happy

but yeah its a pretty good game, good to play and explore & experience the origins of the great game of AFL. :D

Willie Mason was thinking of changing, don't know what happened there. Brad Thron actually made the ABs, he was alright nothing amazing though. His height prevented him from being a good lock but he had a good running game.

Well, my guess would be that Mason is a little too stupid for Union...
But yeah, there's always the odd few you switch codes, Thorn was okay but wasn't terribly effective, and ended up returning to League as he couldn't really cope.
GK- Well bouncing the ball in Gaelic is simple, as it's a soccer ball, but I still don't do it :D

MAN! I LOVE THAT GAME!

I hope Mason never moves to Union, he'd suck bad at it. I also reckon Marshall would be good for League, with a side-step like that he can just pick up and run past the gap so easily.

Warning super 14 spoiler below

Yep WA is AFL crazy.
If we had bigger stadiums there would be easily 60,000 to a freo v's west coast game.
Thats the main one but we will support any sport well here.

Western Force still averaging around 25,000 per game despite thir performances.
It would be higher but theres almost no tickets for the general public as theres over 35,000 members.
Soccer Perth Glory was drawing in the biggest crowds around aus until the Aleague came.

Western Force were robbed, we won that :crying 6mins to go try denied due to insufficient evidence, didnt take a genius too see he was clearly over the line but they couldnt be 100% certain so it was denied.
Then again with about 2mins to go ref was too slow to call crusaders advantage over costing us another try.
We never should have let them back in the game though.

On a brighter note.
We got him yessssssss.
According to commentators Giteau has signed with Western Force for a massive 6million dollars 5 year contract. :happy :happy.

Cant find any news confirming it though only rumours.

Wow I love you Force!!! At last someone has stopped the mighty Crusaders winning streak. Now hopefully someone can put a loss into the Crusaders.

On the Giteau rumours, he is favoured to go there but nothing official. I hope the Force give one of their 5/8s back to the Brumbies, I'd rather take Daruda then a Brook James though.

Also heres an article on the money Giteau could get. http://foxsports.news.com.au/story/0,8659,18884986-23217,00.html

Well that was embarrasing. Good work from the Force though, they played with a real passion

i read an article that Giteau has signed with the Force for 4.5 mill over 4 years :)

though the problem with that is the force have only weakened the Brumbies, now there will be 3 crappy teams and only one half-decent one. I personally think they should be looking overseas instead of poaching from an extremely shallow talent pool.

The Brumbies will be fine until Larkham leaves (although knowing Larkham he'll get injuried next year too). Surely the Brumbies must have some good up and coming backs. Or poach some from NSW comp.

Larkham is about 32, and injury prone

and quality backs dont grow on trees, plus they take time to develop....Force have screwed ACT over bigtime.
