Cricinfo preview

Pakistan look like they're going to put up a massive score here.

Ireland have dragged this back well.

Great bowling by Rankin.

Rankin bowled four over's and went for only 11. How long till he runs off for England.

Great bowling by Rankin. 4 overs for just 11 runs, simply amazing in any format.

Pakistan probably have enough runs, but it will be interesting to see Ireland's reply.

My feeling is that the Irish will play well in the beginning and struggle against the spinners, as usual.

Looks like there's too much to do for the Irish here. They do a good job to set up a solid base for chasing, but unfortunately don't have the batting down the order to push for the win.

Here is the result:

Pakistan 159/5 (20/20 ov)
Ireland 120/9 (20.0/20 ov)

Pakistan won by 39 runs

Pakistan are through to the semi-finals. And their net runrate has improved to +1.185.

So Pakistan get through to the semi's, you really have to congratulate them for making that far considering they haven't played that much cricket lately. Ireland played well during the tournament too, I know it's T20 but they never really looked like a minnow.

So if New Zealand can win tommorow Sri Lanka will be going home, that would pretty much throw the world cup wide open if it happened.
