T20 World Cup 2024 (West Indies/USA)

Namibia are mucking around just send in Wisese at 5 and he will make the Aussie bowlers pay for bad bowling

India could slip up against USA. USA is more likely cause of the evenly paced NY pitch. Much like Pakistan, our middle order is largely untested and has the likes of SKY and Jadeja who are good for nothing. I wouldn't be surprised if the Americans run us close here. Would be interesting to see if the Indian media turns volte face on Netravalkar if he were to run through the famed line up.

The Dallas games might be washed out, which will hamper the qualification chances of Pakistan here. Interesting times ahead for this group.

The last time they were massacred by Australia (CWC2003), Australia won the World Cup.

I’m confused as to why JJ Smit and Jan Frylinck aren’t bowling for Namibia, being their best bowlers statistically.

Today’s game they had 6 bowlers apart from them, and their plans to bowl them seem farther from ever

match-fixing
noun

  1. (in sport) the action or practice of dishonestly determining the outcome of a match before it is played.

Pretty sure Hazlewood just admitted Australia are planning to match fix in a similar way to Austria West Germany back in the 1982 Football World Cup first group stage during the Disgrace of Gijon
But then again, it’s just Same Old Aussies. Always Cheating
Josh Hazlewood said:
Whether you get close and you just knock it around and drag it out, there's a few options there but...to take confidence from winning and winning well, I think that's almost more important than potentially trying to knock someone else out.
According to this Australia's primary goal is still winning, but Hazlewood suggests they might go slow to keep Scots NRR above Eng. If match-fixing really is determining the outcome of a match, this doesn't fall under that definition as Australia will still try and get their desired outcome (an Aussie win)

Although that is still unfortunate and takes away the fun of the game, can you really call it cheating if you're exploiting a loophole that's a result of poor tournament format planning? What with the pre-seeding and no points/NRR carried forward and everything, it's ICC who are to blame for letting this situation arise in the first place.
