As of now, Kaavalan is releasing on Friday, January 14th for Pongal.

Seems like a Vijay movie is getting positive reviews after a long time. From what I have heard, Vijay had done a great job in Kaavalan and that its a feel good and emotional family entertainer. I am waiting to catch it in theatres soon here in US

Loved Kaavalan. After a long time, a soft and sweet romantic entertainer from Vijay. Vadivelu and Asin are very good in their respective roles. Raj Kiran is also great. The climax twist is hard hitting and the 2nd half of the film is very good and emotional. 4/5

kaavalan is a worst movie .... worser than the worst.... yet another remake movie from vijay.... they made the movie run for a week with heavy promos and I seeing these fake promos went and watched the movie only few seats occupied in a multiplex theatre in chennai.... this movie is such an illogical crap that I got headache when I came out of the theatre.....

Good news for USA Tamil viewers. DirecTV has dropped Star Vijay (Vijay TV) from their service, and Dish Network has acquired Star Vijay. The huge number of Tamil people who have Dish Network can get Star Vijay for free if they have the Tamil Mega pack. Right now, Dish is testing out Star Vijay and so you can watch it for free at channel 583. Star Vijay has much better programmes and is far better than Sun and Jaya.

Sun and Jaya are absolutely horrible. So depressing to watch, don't know how all the paatis watch the same serials of domestic abuse, divorce, poverty etc over and over again. I think it is to help our own self image...as south indians we always make ourselves feel better by looking at people who are worse .
