Tamil Music/Movie Thread

yeah, shes allowed to act in films now.But had to return back the advance she got for the film 'paiyaa'.

Yeah that all is fine, but he's yet another ripper, ripping english songs. And one more thing is I'm bored with his routine One(or more sometimes) rap per movie formula. But the music however is mostly pleasant. But not a fan of him anyway.

The songs of 'Siva Manasula Sakthi' are pleasing to hear although they bear the Yuvan stamp a little too much. I really like the "Oru Kal Oru Kannadi' song sung by Yuvan (reminds me of the film 'April Madathil').

I wasnt initially interested in Padikkathavan but now, I like two songs from it (Hey Vetri Vela and Raangi Rangamma). Peppy tunes! Waiting for Rahman's next album in Tamil (I think Chennaiyil Oru Mazhaikaalam with Gautham Menon). Though many might not agree, I like almost all songs of Harris Jeyaraj's "Ayan". HJ has this knack of repeating his tunes but will make sure that he retains some sort of addictiong that the listeners experience with his tunes. "Nenje Nenje", "Vizhi Moodi" and "Oo Aayiyie" are awesome.

P.s: Gautham is doing a film with Simbhu called "Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya (title is taken from the 'Vennilave' song of Minsara Kanavu:D). AR Rahman is scoring music (Gautham has made ARR his regular now). Simbhu is damn lucky... Trisha is the heroine (she has become a Gautham regular too).

SMS songs are rocking, "Oru Kal" is a masterpiece. Anyone knows when Kandasamy audio releases????

OMG What made gautam deciding to direct a simbhu film.Lets hope he changes the way people think about the film when they come to see a simbhu film.
Hes really lucky to have ARR to don the music.
@Akash: Dont know mate.Im too eagerly waiting for it to hit the theatres.

Gautham-Simbhu are on a spree to spoof the super duper hit films of recent times. All their publicity stills have been direct spoofs of films like 'Minsara Kanavu', 'Uyire (Dil Se)', 'Alaipayuthey', 'Geethanjali (Nagarjuna-Maniratnam film)' and 'Kaakha Kaakha'.

Yeah the posters of the movie 'Vinnai thandi varuvaya' are looking cool too.Hope Simbhu changes the way he acts from this movie.

Yaavarum Nalam seems to be a really great movie. Its running packed houses in almost all theatres.Seems nobody got up from their seats during the intermission.Everybody were just frozen into the film. And a happy ending made the day for the audience.A must watch for everybody.Ill be going for the film mostly tommorow or the day after. The above things were said by everyone who saw the movie.Hoping the film would live up to my expectations.

Well I don't understand Tamil, but sometime back Doordarshan showed this amazing movie called Malli by Santosh Sivan. It's a great movie.

Oh.I think I've heard only the title somehwere :p.But Santhosh Sivan is a very talented personality. That I know.

Just now I checked that wikipedia link you posted.
It seems he was the cinematographer of the film Iruvar which was directed by Maniratnam in Tamil(Aishwarya Rai's debut in cinema). That one of the masterpieces of Mani. But It dint go well due to its criticism of some popular tamil political leaders like MGR and Karunanidhi.
I love that film truly. If you get a chance to watch that film, dont missit.

He has also cinematographed some other of my favorite films like Thalapathi(Rajni,Mani combo) and Roja.Im admiring this guy now.

I am eagerly waiting for the DVD of 'Yaavarum Nalam' to come out. I dont want to watch 13B in Hindi because I feel Madhavan is a better actor in Tamil, and the Tamil version sounds more promising to me (its a big hit in Tamil where it has flopped in Hindi).

How many watched Naan Kadavul? Is it worth watching for a guy like me who gets disturbed pretty easily (sometimes it disturbs me so much that I speak to myself in sleep abt a film in the night).

Anyone see Villu yet? I got the DVD and i'm watching it this weekend, hopefully its decent.

Its yet another let down from Vijay.Hes really losing his Market here now.Dont waste your 3 hours time. Its not only me.I havent heard a single guy saying its atleast okay.Best of luck lol.

Just now I returned home after watching Yaavarum Nalam.I'll say it as the best film I've ever seen.Simply Fantastic. But Sai,I wont advice you to see it,just beacuse its really horrifying.
But at the end of the film its completely feel easy.Im not sure about you though.
