Yes, the bowling system was totally revamped. It is also 'revolutionary' :D

Seriously, we have implemented a really cool new take on the bowling and think you guys will quite like it.

The alpha version will be for anyone in the world.

Cant wait to test out the new bowling mechanism:banana2.. I always preferred bowling over batting in the cricket games and so far only AC09 has given me some sort of joy.

Bring it on!:happy

My question about the alpha is what will the game mode be? Will it be limited to a few overs like commercial betas? or will we have more freedom to test out most aspects of the game?
Neither apparently.

I've been around....the odd post now and again...not in this thread though...

s'pose I should do an update....

Things going pretty well. I've almost completed the Night effects for weather, e.g. in a day/night match, including floodlights etc.

We've also decided to release a practice nets alpha (similar to what CR did) in a month or so for people to finally get a hands on feel for the game. It would contain all bowling styles and all batting strokes. We're pretty excited about it as we can finally allow people to see what all the fuss is about in terms of physics and gameplay.

We're also hoping that the excitement generated (assuming it is received well) will spur us on to the finish line for the full game.

More on this in the coming weeks.

cheers,

LM

WTF thats weird, I guess their going the CR route.

Something is better than nothing I guess, and it gives them more time to work on the fielding aspects.

I have a suggestion btw, for people with slow computers it would be nice to have an option to have the crowd/everything outside of the field turn off. Just the field of play and a vacuum around it.

heyy Paul,

Does the new 'revolutionary' batting system include the option to walk down the pitch and slog?

If you can provide some new screenshots of alpha version that would be awesome

The 'alpha' is more of a sneak peak than anything else, for people to see how we're going and actually be able to 'play' rather than the screens and vids we have released to date.

Yes, You'll be able to charge down the wicket and play any stroke you like post charge.

Inevitably we'll be running late for the alpha release, so we will definitely give you guys some screens and video as a peace offering ;)

LM, how much HDD space will we need to run the alpha, and when it comes to the full release, how much memory will that take up?

LM you ask,I can give you whole month of March but just at the stake of Quality cricket game which I know TAOC will prove to be.....:D

Some would definitely be angry(my board EXAMS on whole march thats why saying it:p)

can't say for sure, but maybe somewhere around 300MB or so? Hopefully much less. Will confirm when I've cleared out a lot of unnecessary stuff from the build.

The more the size of demo, the more the game looks good :D. Look at CR Demo and Ashes Cricket 2009 Demo. AC Demo Size was more than CR Full game. Size gives an impression of how many features have been included ;)

Dont forget: size doesn't matter! (Which apparently is based on what men think. Woman have a different opinion!:p) anyway, good luck guys. looking forward to what you have to offer and I wish you well in getting things together!

in the alpha, will we be able to edit some of the texture files in it, for example, the bat could be modified, and so could the kit, stumps etc.

also, if we modify the bat/kit, will we be able to have a choice of which bat is used using an editor, or is it to early to start trying to edit it.
