TBH I knew this will happen. It's not because there's always delay, it's because how the fans were eagerly waiting for it. Read some comments prev. pages they all were posting 5 days to go, 4 days to go.. etc If people could have some patience then maybe this delay won't happen.

Seriously, were you high when making that post.

If you have followed this game for a long time then as LM said the delay was inevitable. As long as it come out this year we'll be happy
 
Worked all weekend basically round the clock. Made some massive advances. Though things are running late, we're getting really close, so we're not going to be very late at all.

My revised target if JK can get back on track is this weekend.

Nice work LM. any chance we will see some videos and screens before that. Its been a long while since we have seen any videos, none with the new engine so it would be great to see something.

Glad to know it's just a week more (hopefully:p). I thought it will be more than that. but waiting for a teaser (video) before the alpha release (which itself is a teaser:p).
 
As soon as JK gets me the nets model I'll be able to implement it and post some screens. At the moment I just have a placeholder there and it would look crap to show that. Everything else, including training kits, is there and looking nice I must say.

Really good question....probably not so well as the shot never gets very far due to running into the net. But it's an interesting point. Really not sure how I can get round this. One option is to remove collision from the nets object so the shots go the full distance. I could then have an option to show a vertical 'spider' showing where the shots went.

This would mean things would be delayed further though....if enough people demand it then I'll consider it.

Well, it's just a nets session, so not much....probably just the player kits, gloves, bat etc.

It's more for people just to get a feel for how we are doing and to see the free form physics in action. Also to experience the bowling and batting systems.

Just make the net bigger.

A good example of what would be ideal were the BLIC practice nets, which were a net placed in the middle of an otherwise normal stadium and the pitch made green. Do that with big wide nets and you can get a feel for the shots without worrying about the ball stopping dead.
 
I second whitehornmatt. just make the net area much wider. As wide as 15 yards wide (like the infield) would be good enough to get the feeling.
