Ok, so to discuss that No Ball idea I had...
How about this:
Bowler comes in to bowl - does the normal power bar stuff, but during the runup there's a second meter (not sure vertical or horizontal yet) which is for (front foot) no balls. Basically the marker for this meter starts in the center and goes up or down at times (somewhat randomly) and you as a bowler have to keep an eye on it from the corner of your eye to make sure it doesn't reach the far end of the top or bottom. If you see it creeping up too far you can click a button to make it flick straight back to the center again, after which it continues to move up or down and repeat etc until the ball is bowled.
What I'm trying to simulate with this is the bowler having to concentrate on his runup as well as his ball placement and power etc.
Of course, it needs to be pretty forgiving and also based on stats like confidence and skill etc as it would suck a lot to happen too often - obviously.
It also means that if you do bowl a no-ball it would have been because you would have forgotten about that meter for a second to focus on other things and not even realised you (overstepped the mark) bowled a no ball
I think this would be a kinda realistic way of simulating how a no ball really does occur which is usually a lapse in concentration.
What do you think?
