Team India

Dont go harsh on RP, he will be our asset on SA pithes, Nehra = liability :doh

Are you perhaps forgetting the pivotal role played by Nehra during the 2003 World Cup campaign ?

But we are not playing in Durban this time. That 6-23 came in Durban. Apart from that, it was an ordinary one for Nehra.

I agree.. I have confidence in RP on SA pitches. He seems to click in these conditions (T20 WC and IPL-II)

We will be good when the tournament starts - Dravid
We'll play well once CT kicks off: Dravid: Cricket Next

I think Dravid's reasoning is that the pitch in the warmup game was a very dry surface and turned straightaway. It was almost a subcontinent track. So you needed runs on the board and that puts pressure on the chasing team straightaway and thats what happened. Centurion and Wanderers are both faster surfaces with more bounce and carry. This ground was not specifically built for cricket, but the other two venues are. That makes the difference. On faster surfaces, the likes of Dravid, Tendulkar, Yuvraj should find middling the ball really good (already Dravid and Tendulkar are in good flow). Even for the bowlers, Centurion and Wanderers should be far better in terms of carry and bounce. Which means RP and Ishant should get much more help when the main tournament starts.

I am optimistic!

It's not hit out or get out slog festival. It's 50 overs game, just wait and watch how RP and Nehra are going to be smashed by quality sides. I would be surprised if those bunny jokers get a wicket. May be, like Sangakkara's wicket in finals, they might get some fortunes. :laugh

Yeah sure, lets watch it. I am not the type of pessimist who absolutely ridicules our bowlers. Your abuse of them (yours is not bordering on criticism, its abuse for sure) is totally unwarranted. They are not great bowlers, but they arent as rubbish as you make them out to be. Nehra did well against NZ in that game in the recent tri-series. RP Singh has had success in SA conditions before (though in T20, but I dont see much of a difference because if he can bowl well when the batsmen are always looking to slog, he can possibly do it when the batsmen are grafting).

I love to abuse Indian bowlers. It makes me happy and those who read my posts also.

Mr. Dravid if it was subcontinent pitch then how did NZ made 300 and you got out for poong tang pie.

Even I could have done well on that pitch :laugh.

Don't forget there is something with ICC events taking place in South Africa and Team India.
We always seem to do well.

Most of those who talk bad things about the current Indian bowling seem to be great bowling masters themselves.:p

I can bowl fast than Ishant and he is best we have right now. ;)

After watching the pasting the bowlers have taken, I think India should play Amit Misra. definitely against Aussies who do not play spin anymore.
