Thats quite odd, I thought there was fielder placed in the deep backward sq leg. I will have a look though. I want to ask you this, did you get the CPU bowled off yorkers. If so, then the CPU is only tweked to deal with few yorkers and not all of them. If you consistently keep bowling non stop yorkers CPU will miss some of them and in the process will fold up fairly early. If you want to avoid this you can try using Zimrahill's sweep patch. Let me know.

Oh yer i did bowl a few yorkers, not heaps but a few.

And also dont worry about that field thing, i played afew more matches and there was a fielder there, it was only for that match whihc was a bit odd

i think if i get Zimrahills patch that would be more challening
do you have it or know where i can get it?

it happens with me all the three of my browsers
Thats why i wasnt able to post anything
Did it happened to u also?
I think u need to decrease the Cpu`s R/R
Ill play a game 2 day and post the screenshots

Sorry Amber it was just an oversight. With the current patch you will need to take a 2legs guard (middle & leg) as opposed to default guard, this will ensure you can block all the yorkers. I have fixed this issue with an update which I can send you guys.

Ragada, will send you an update with the yorker patch included later today. Let me know if others also require the yorker patch update to be sent.

Mani i think that the run rate should be increased slightly, thats just me but i always find i beat the CPU's run rate quite easily. I usually score at about 7 an over while they score at 4-5 an over.

To Ravi, thanks for that, it would be good to have they yorker thing in and also if we wanted to change the run rate ourselves to suit our own playing style, is there files we can change?

Ragada, I have tried my best to tweak the Test Cricket files to be realistic to play. I am sure you are a good Cricket 2002 player and I suppose with the latest tweaks for Test Cricket even you might find it hard to score at 7/over. There are more than one combination of files that will need to be changed to set the Run Rate proper for CPU as well as Human although it requires quite a lot of trial and error. In the coming days after my changes are accepted by pretty much everyone, I will post here what values can be changed to customize.

I played a mtch against Australia today as Sri Lanka on a green pitch and the aussies just smacked me around. the first 10 overs went for about 70 runs but then i slowed it down and they ended up at 264/9.
I chased their total and made it in the 41st over, i was 267/4.

The game was really enjoyable, but i couldnt get the australians out, they either got out by yorkers or by getting caught towards the end of the innings. would this be because Sri Lanka dont have much bowling variety or because i was bowling in the wrong spots?

It might have been a mixture of both I guess. Although the result will not always be similar at times, the CPU can be bowled out for reasonable score but if its Australia you are playing against then the score will rather be high. Also I know you are a lot better batter than most of us in the forum and you will end up winning most of the games. Just to make it a bit more tough for you I have tweaked the batting files just a little and to make it hard for us to win every games.

The biggest breakthrough I have achieved with the latest tweaking is the yorker patch, the update I am going to send you guys is going to play out all of the yorkers not by sweeping by turning it off the toes down to fine leg for runs(see the screeen shot below). From now on I assure you bowling CPU out using yorkers will be almost gone from the game. How much ever I could convince myself that its okay for CPU to sweep the yorkers, I couldnt be impressed. To get over this I have made a change in which CPU will simply score runs if it doesnt defend the yorker. I have preserved the defese at times for yorkers to keep it realistic, how often does a yorker goes for runs. I have also preserved the occassional out for yorkers to yet again keep it realistic. Given most of the yorkers will go for runs with this patch(more often than not for 4) I am sure only when desperate we will bowl a yorker.

I am not exaggerating you guys role but if the yorker patch has hapenned now it is only because you testers came up with this yorker issue. More feedback better for all of us, we can fix quite a lot of issues if only we know there are issues. I now am bloody thrilled knowing CPU wont sweep the yorkers but will score runs in a realistic way, from now on I will be playing this game more than I ever did. Thanks again for the feedback guys, I owe you guys one.

Dont want to jump the gun yet but am sure it is looking good. I will send this to you first if you have time to test right away and if you reckon its bug free then we will send it to all other testers too. You will have to bear with me for just sometime though, need to tidy up couple of things with this update.
