Yeah but I dont think that the test files have been tested much and given feedback.
The ODI files are different from Test ones. You run the appropriate exe (eg ODI batting.exe for batting in ODI or Test Bowling.exe for bowling in Tests) and it installs the appropriate files by itself.Originally posted by Auwais BARTHEZ@Jul 26 2003, 09:35 PM
OK I'm going to test the files now. B) Just want to know whether the ODI patch has the same files as the test patch so I can have both on in case the files are different.
Thanks
Auwais
I see you are enjoying the game although you couldnt force a win against the Oz. If you can win some and lose some I would say there is absolutely no need to alter the patch anymore. Good luck with the bowling.Originally posted by amber22@Jul 27 2003, 03:10 PM
Well , I lost that match by just 1 wkt.
Anyway , I was up with another one against NZ(VB series) on hard pitch.I scored 297 runs for 9 wicket. The main attraction was Sachin and Sehwag smashing 95 runs(patnership) in the first 11 overs .The bowlers were BOND and Adams. Then Dravid , Ganguly and Yuvraj contribiuted to take the score to 297
Again , there were sufficient edges(Thank GOD).So the batting files looks good.
Firstly, thanks for your feedback . Hell yeah, it of course helps. Infact if we have had feedback from half of those who downloaded the patch <_< , the patch would have been perfect.Originally posted by cric_fan@Jul 28 2003, 04:26 PM
I am new to this forum and really glad to see some good patches being made by Ravi to improve the game and make it more interesting.
I have played both a test match series and a one day match and would like to give a feedback.
I installed the ODI patch and found some real improvements. I played a match against the Aussies and batted first. I posted 332/5 in 50 overs with Tendulkar, Dravid all posting scores above 70 and the others contributing quick runs (20s, 30s).
The initial Aussie reply was very strong scoring over 6/7 an over. They posted around 100 runs in the first 15 overs with only Hayden back for a duck.
But surprisingly after 15 overs the reply was not strong at all. D. Mongia (left arm slow) took 4 wickets in one over and the Aussies ultimately folded for 170 around the 25th over!
ODI HUMAN BATTING
*The real point here is scoring the runs. I found it tough to force the pace and the real improvements are the edges and the need to run singles, 2s to keep the scoring going...
*But as far as yorkers are concerned, to survive it is tough unless you cover all the stumps. Even a off and middle stance is useless and the ball squeezes through!
ODI CPU BATTING
*Initially the scoring rate is awesome with runs being smashed all over the park. Matches may be won during this time itself if the score to chase is around 200...!
*Runs can be curbed bowling a good line...which is good.
TEST MATCHES
The patch is very good overall. But the CPU plays a lot towards the fine leg ... even for balls pitched well outside the off stump! having a short & deep fine leg allays the problem somewhat.
You can easily get run outs with a short fine leg. A lot of CPU batsman got out playing shots towards fine leg! This issue may be addressed so that the CPU plays more diverse shots.
Hope the feedback helps...
When I wanted to bat or bowl I replaced the shots directory etc. and ran odi_bowling.exe if i wanted to bowl or the appropriate bat.exe if i wanted to bat. No problems there.
