Absolutely no worries Jonah, I am just wondering why havent you got those files yet? I thought I sent it to you yesterday itself. I will have a quick look and send it to you if havent already.

Bugger, its sitting in the outbox and not in the sent items. Dont really know what went wrong there, will send it to you right away Jonah :pizza: .

Apparently, the issue was with the cricket2002.exe file. The old settings were working very well when used with bat.exe and bowl.exe. The configs needed quite a lot of changes when we started to use cricket2002.exe, looks like it reads the numbers in the config files quite differently. The current version hopefully should sort those differences out although I havent tested them fully well. Let me know how you go. I am expecting the Test Cricket files to behave very differently when used with cricket2002.exe as well, probably it needs a bit more work than just reducing the number of edges. Will keep you posted.

No problems Ravi; I thought something must have happened coz you said you would send them, and you're normally as quick as a bullet at sending things on...
I'll try the new files over the next day or two and let you know.
It'll be interesting to see how the Test files compare once the ODI patch is finished...

Mike, also make sure the sdrive.saf has been set to moderate type shot and not aggressive. Look for the following in that file, if its set to anything else than
Set it to the following

Type Moderate

Let me know if it wasn?t set right, I will package that in the installer and send it to you.

Received the files Ravi, thanks for that :) .
The sdrive.saf was 'aggressive', so I've changed it to 'moderate', as you said.

Thanks Ravi...received the latest set; will post feedback as and when :) ...

This might just be encouraging, playing a game in Sharjah, the pitch is a Dust bowl. The first 15 overs were really thrilling, 10 runs off the first over off Srinath by Anwar. In the same over he was bowled by Srinath B) . Shahid Afridi run out in the 3rd over while Srinath went for heaps of runs. Zaheer bowled bloody well in trying conditions conceding only 8 runs off the first 3. But then he gave away quite a few runs too. Pakistan were 86 for 2 when I brought in spin at both ends (Harbhajan and Kumble). Persisted with slip and Tafeeq caught by Tendulkar in the slips. 3 tight overs by both the spinners and Inzamam bowled by Harbhajan off a wrong un. This was the best ever wicket I have taken really while under pressure. Pakistan isnt giving up yet, Yusuf blasted couple of boundries over the infield convincing me to get a touch defensive. Go Pakistan go.

Also the cut shot over the gully fetched 3 fours in a row against Zaheer, we probably will need to see if this occurance can be cut down a bit or have a third man. This problem is if you have a third man you will need to give up the Cover Sweeper and the Deep fine leg. This is asking for trouble given every now and then the CPU targets these areas. You will probably need to suggest something on this one, you are a champion with the stroke files.

Have a look below it is interesting.

Have a look at the bowling figures, isnt it convincing that the spinners were the only effective bowlers on this pitch. Also the shots all over the ground by Taufeeq.

Looking good Ravi :) . A good run rate by Pakistan...can they bat out the innings?
re the square cut over slips. We'll have to see how it goes. I didn't realise the cpu would use it quite so often...must mean you've got them playing mistimed shots regularly B) . Maybe Zimrahil has some ideas? I'm not sure if increasing the power range will help?(some shots will go over slips, some fall short to the slips). But then the cpu may lose too many wickets.... . Maybe we'll have to forsake the stroke, or even change it to keyframe 0 (VERY late) in the sq cut saf, so the human user has to wait really late to play the shot (more difficult), and the cpu will play it more rarely. Keyframe 1 can be made to just go down to gulley region, on the floor?
Lets see how it goes...and see if Phil has any suggestions, as you two are the real champions of the safs!

You guessed it right, Pakistan didnt bat out 50 overs. They eventually were bowled out for 260+ off 44 overs. Guess what, I failed to chase the score and ended up short by 30+ runs. The lower order was a bit too brittle to my liking where it started from Rashid Latif could not get going at all, he was edging all over the place and ended getting caught in the point for 12. All other batsman from then on were just solitary, they hardly could handle the spinners. I have made few changes to the config and have lowered the edges by a little more as well as making batting a bit easy for the lower order. I also noticed it was going over the top quite too often hence cut the agression level as well. I am currently playing as Zimbabwe against England on a hard pitch(overcast conditions), got Michael Vaughan for nought by Blignaut off the second over(played on :o ). Trescothick going great guns is on 34(36) and A.Mcgrath on 32(38). They are currently on 70/1 off 13 overs, hopefully there will be no batting fiasco. Yet again it might just be a coincidence but this time around it is the swing bowling of Blignaut doing the damage as compared to the fast and fast medium bowlers. The spinners should probably not get much assistance as well, will update you shortly.

My feeling is sqcut over the gully should stay, the CPU plays it atleast 4-5 times resulting in 20 runs at present. This will force us to place a third man post 15 overs atleast, that will be quite a challenge managing the field setup to save the runs.

Cheers, amber22 very kind words.

As regards to the ODI patch, not sure really. This was not what I wanted to work on, you are right I was to tweak the Test cricket settings and unknowingly ended up being engrossed in making a patch for ODI cricket. There have been few issues with it but now seem to have sorted it all. I will get my attention back to Test Tweak once I am done with the current one. It is kinda challenging to patch a ODI, particularly getting the CPU and an individual batsman to pace the inning rather than being dodgy or too aggressive. Hopefully all is sorted by now and should finally have a good working copy of the patch.

I will have to look for those files to send it to you amber22, If I do get it will email it to you otherwise you will be able to find it in cricket2002.tk website.

Ragada, I am not looking forward to releasing this one as there might have been some unknown issues and would not want the patch to be proved a disaster. I will probably think about releasing it if I play for a month with this patch and if am very sure that this can be the most realistic patch made or is superior over all other available patches. If you are keen I can send it to you and you can have a go at it. Let me know.
