Thanks Ravi; I'll let you know. And yes, Johnson's in my team ;) .

Shailesh, I'll try that. Thanks for the tip :) . The editor runs fine, but the direction etc of the shots isn't recognised...
Cheers, Shailesh it works fine but the other parameters arent recognized as is the case with Jonah.

Jonah, only noticed your recent email about the Sq Cut while at work. Will include those changes and send you the install files once I get home.

The files are now sent to you Jonah, check your mail.

Thanks Ravi...there's no doubt the installer makes things a lot easier, just that I'll need you to make any amendments.
I'll have to let you know re Test files , so you can do a bat/bowl installer for those too ;) ...

Jonah, Are you happy with the ODI setting files yet :plane: ? No worries mate, can package the test ones too. What do you reckon does it need a little bit tweaking here and there apart from sqcut/cover drive strokes. Reply here in the forum will let me read this from work as well  hence the post here rather than an email.

Well I'm playing a match at the moment , WI (me) v SL (cpu), dry wicket, sunny.
Cpu, batting first are 36/6 after 8 overs (2 bowled, 3 lbw, 1 caught at point). Cpu seems to be having difficulty, playing across the line a lot (hence the lbw's), and playing/missing a lot, all to fast/medium bowlers. Hopefully a reconstruction job by the lower order will get them to a decent total. I'll let you know.
The game I played yesterday finished cpu 179 all out (41.1), me 180/6 (38) (hard wicket).
I haven't yet had the cpu play 50 overs with the latest cfg's, but hopefully it will soon....
Will keep on testing Ravi :) ...

Mike

Jackie has asked me to keep an eye on you and unless I see more baby caring and less pc sports simulation playing whilst you are at home, the detention centre awaits :zimrahil: ;)

Well, contrary to what she , and indeed much of the female population think about the male gender, I CAN do two things at once;
1.Put the baby in front of the telly.
2.Play PC games.
(Only joking, just in case anyone reports me to NSPCC ;), or worse still, as you say, send me to the Detention Forum, where who knows what terrors await :P ).

Lol

To rip off a classic Big Brother (UK) phrase.........

"Jonah, you are the 2nd member to be evicted from the Planet Cricket House. You have one hour to back your bags (if missus has not done so already). Detention Centre will be coming to get you............"

:D

I thought the playing across the line was fixed :o , its probably not in the files I sent you. The files I play with the CPU is getting bowled or lbw only once a game or two. The shots ondrive and leg glance have been modified to play only balls which are full and bowled on legs. I will send those across to you when I get home, that should fix the issues you've mentioned  . With the set of files I have CPU is posting around 250-280 on a hard pitch. What do you think about the Batting patch, does it need to be made a little easier. When batting make sure you dont play too many shots until the batsman is well settled, leave as many as possible and defend some in the first 20 balls the batsman plays. From then on start playing few shots on the ground and when the batsman is well settled (say when he has gone on to make 40+), play shots in the air once in a while. This will certainly help you to post a good total every now an then.

Isnt the telly best to happen  , keeps us all engaged (your little one too).

Thanks Ravi...I must, as you say, have been using older files. I'll try the new ones; hopefully the cpu will be a little stronger.

The batting sure is a test. I feel the uppercut sq cut we've recently implemented may be a little too easy (normal, keyframe 1). Maybe a 3rd man needs posting, or power range increasing? What do you think? I'd like to keep it in, coz I like it, (the cpu even played it against me yesterday!), but I feel it needs making a little more risky. Likewise the height of the 'chinese cut' (keyframe 3) needs lowering a little (maybe to 148,095,000), coz at the moment, it goes over the stumps, not crashing into them!
Also, a little more power (or power range) in the front foot cover drive? I haven't managed to hit a boundary with it yet (along the ground, not in the air).
Can't think of anything else yet, Ravi. I'll keep your tips in mind. I certainly agree with the fact that the longer the batsman is in, the easier it gets, which is very realistic.
I'll try those new files :) .

I would suggest wait for the one I will send you shortly, the CPU is made much more stronger and a little bit more aggressive. It was a little too defensive on damp and wet surfaces, it was trying to sneak a single always rather than hitting out at times. For us to chase on damp and wet surfaces it will need to post somewhere between 170-200 runs. This way we will also not be thinking of keeping the same field throughout on a wet or damp surface. It will be a challenge to keep changing the field  and also the line to suit our field setting.

I have'nt enountered too many shots over the gully when cutting the ball (probably my timing is right on the money) . I also feel we should keep that shot but make it a bit harder to play it, we shall sort that out. The chinese cut is indeed working well, I was bowled twice trying to cut one too many. Anything close or wide has resulted in dragging the ball onto the stumps at present. This has reduced my playing of cut shots one too many, I am sure you will notice this. When you encounter too many edges when batting you will need to consolidate, leave as many as possible and defend some. Once settled its sweet as, I assure you.

Hmm the cover drive, it isnt my favourite shot. The power is fairly high right now we can probably increase it some more. Will send those files to you soon.

Thanks Ravi for alll your work...excellent stuff :) ...
Glad to hear that you've 'dragged on' a couple of times...it's so annoying when that happens :( but very realistic as it's something you see often in cricket but good old EA left it out  .
Look forward to those new files mate...
