Test Your Internet Speed

Unlimited bandwidth should be a fundamental human right, guaranteed by the Bill of Rights.

I don't know how you guys deal with quotas. I download and stream so much, there is no way I could cope.

Not bad, not bad at all.

It will come a hell of a lot sooner than you think. Fiber optic is available in my area now, that is about 40-50mb but its a lot more expensive.

45 a month is pretty standard pricing here, its really not that expensive. That's cheaper than a cell phone plan or cable TV.

I pay NZ$60 a month for 20gb bandwidth, with upload speeds restricted to 100kbits/s and manage to get download speeds of 8mbit/s. (bits, not bytes). NZ$60 ~ USD45 I think. That's one of the better plans you can get in NZ.

I always have to ration how much I use, especially because my sister uses quite a bit as well.

Mine is pay for what you use. Works out at $1 per GB.
So on average it's about $45 a month ($33 flat rate then we use about 12GB a month)

Different companies have different plans. I was thinking of moving to slingshot where for $20 extra I would get 25GB on peak, and unlimited off-peak. (With off-peak being something like 2-8am. The problem being that I've heard Slingshot is slower than Telecom.

Just checked and it's up to $50.63 this month and we've used 16.29GB which is more than usual.

Yeah I haven't heard good things about slingshots speeds.

Oh and xnet offers the off-peak free downloading plan aswell. Could be worth a look.

hmmm not bad. I can't wait until they start installing optic though.
