Interesting how the new ball that looks a lot shinier than the one it is replacing gets a quick wicket...

It's irritating as it effectively rewards the fielding team for being poor, although England were after a replacement yesterday too.

Duke ball dose the trick >> same happen vs India.Every time eng Changed Duke ball
their bowlers swing 2.10 more
Good bowling by Pattinson than i expects.
194 for 4[DOUBLEPOST=1564761227][/DOUBLEPOST]new ball due after 13 overs

Pat Cummins is the key for Australia here I believe. He had a very average WC and looked very flat so far in this inning as well. However, he has looked like he is getting some sort of rhythm back in this spell. He has been Australia best red ball bowler since he has made a comeback into the test team. Nathan Lyon has struggled so far against Burns because even though he is getting the ball to turn, he is not getting the bounce that makes him threatening. The standout bowler so far in this inning has been Pattinson.

The score basically suggests it's a flat pitch. Just some really good bowling has saw Australia down and out in this match so far.

:yes :aus::cheers:thumbs:arwk::os:
Congratulation R.Burns for Maiden Test Century

I think it's also a slow pitch. Doesn't seem as though batting is easy on it. The run rate must be very low.

eng should Adapt with slow pitch>> lead of 125 good enough for 1/0.Anyway eng never beaten here vs australia since many years

Great days play and well done Rory. Great knock, rode your luck but man you deserve it. Lets push on tomorrow for a 100 run lead.

Think of it this way, he has scored 50+ in around half of his test match innings

England's batting is dependent on him. It can be said for India, Australia and NZ as well and you can see the difference the other three have made on tours. Joe Root is too good to be floundering around with the scores he has post 50. Looks good when the batting average shows up, but it's not winning England test matches/series.

I don't even know the numbers and I feel from what I have seen that Williamson plays a lot more crucial and match winning knocks than the other 3 but Root is leagues behind his counterparts in test match cricket.

According to the rules laid down by Cricket Australia Smith won't be allowed to takeover the Captaincy until 2021. I think Tim Paine is a better Test Captain as well when compared to Smith.
Smithy often panic during Aus. Fielding while lead team in test.
