I think it's also a slow pitch. Doesn't seem as though batting is easy on it. The run rate must be very low.
Tbh I wasn't watching the match until the last 10 overs yesterday. But what I have seen is that the pitch would be an absolute minefield for the team batting 4th. I think even a 150 runs target would be difficult to chase on this surface. England should look for an innings victory here by batting for long enough. Can't leave it till the end and give any chance to Australia to comeback.

Nice to see some attacking intent from Stokes, which allowed Burns to keep playing his game. Unlucky!

England lead!!!!

Shot themselves a bit in the foot unless these last two can scramble another 30 or 40

yes so Someone from aus must have to bats as good as Broad and Woakes >>otherwise eng win close game[DOUBLEPOST=1564839486][/DOUBLEPOST]westindies bowlers Holding & Baptiste 143 for 9th wicket vs England here some 35 years ago.

I thought Tino best (95 by #11 in year?) hold that record but he put on 150 for 10th wicket with Ramdin vs Eng also here @ EdGbaston

9th wicket here now 65*
eng 365 / 8

Jofra predicted yesterday's incident with the ball hitting the stumps but not dislodging the bails

He also predicted the super over in 2013

Jofra has predicted every single tweaking thing that has happened in the world cricket.

He is time traveller or a from another universe:p.

Really glad to see Burns finally prove his worth, he has piled on the runs in county and fully deserves an extended run in the side given that nearly every other option has been tried and has failed.

On the topic of Wade, calling for him to be dropped seems a bit harsh. He wasn’t anywhere near being this good a few years ago due to the burden of keeping and right now has been outstanding in all three forms of domestic cricket. There was arguably no better performer in the Shield recently and he was also unlucky to get a very good ball in the first innings.

Sure, Marnus would be a decent choice too given he can bowl part-time spin. But calling him the superior option due to his recent county record isn’t entirely accurate given that he made his runs in Division 2.

Mitchell Marsh will probably end up being picked ahead of both them.

Jim Lacker and A.Bedsir batted 174 ball for 9th wicket in 1961

Yesterday Broad / Woakes
147 ball during 65 runs stand- great batting
