The Big Bang Theory

No I don't think like that. I watch the show because I enjoy it and find it funny but sometimes you don't enjoy it as much because the storyline is predictable.

Not a bad offering last night, Sheldon winning an award - I would have guessed the principle/university would NEVER give Sheldon an award, but hey ho.

Some of the lines just seem to be 'going through the motions', almost like people who've known each other too long. Some of it was cringeworthy (like Sheldon singing the periodic table), but there were some really good lines. It will run out of fresh material pretty soon, although if Leonard and Wallowitz get dumped then that could reopen doors. Seem to see a lot less of the comic book store which always has potential, and when the three who are interested in "copulating", as Sheldon puts it, go out that can be funny

I've got to be honest, I think you just look at into way too much depth. I just sit down, watch it and enjoy it, without studying every single line said. No wonder you don't enjoy it as much if you keep picking at every little line or action.

Last night's episode was pretty funny. Loved Sheldon's drunk stand-up, in particular the electron/neutron joke :p

I thought it was a very funny episode, the X-men joke was one of the best I've heard in a long time.

Yeah this episode was hilarious. I was in stitches from Sheldon's jokes and the X-Men thing.

I judge it as a whole, I don't enjoy it as much as in past episodes because the quality is poor. I find it ironic that I view it exactly the same way as you do, but for you to try and explain away why you find it funny and I don't, you claim I overanalyse! Score one for ironic because you are overanalysing someone else's comments

The humour in the Sheldon's award episode was lacking, the scene with Sheldon trying on clothes was not that funny at all. It is becoming more of a soap than a sitcom, but with more (intentional) jokes than you get in a sitcom.

And isn't it ironic you say I don't enjoy it for singling out every line, then you single out your particular favourite joke :facepalm :sarcasm :laugh Arguably that is funnier than the episode you refer to. Perhaps I'm just not as easily pleased as you, or perhaps it just happens I watched a couple of really funny episodes which aren't the norm for the whole comedy. Sure the x-men, c-men joke was feintly amusing, but if you found it hysterical I have to wonder how old you are (not specific to you you, the general "one" you)

Thursday's was poor, the bickering between Penny and Leonard wasn't funny at all, and Sheldon's quest for revenge on his nemesis Wil Wheaton isn't that funny either. There was so much scope for being funny, but there seems to be more an agenda to fit an overall plot in and the episodes aren't long enough to fit it all in. Like I say, it's more a soap with a plot and more jokes thrown in, I find episodes of Friends that I've seen many times over funnier. Earlier episodes of BBT I've watched on the Thursday twice and Saturday twice, even recorded two of the funnier ones, but I didn't bother watching the second half of the repeat on Saturday.

Sheldon is funniest when he's not trying to be, the writers are giving him a sense of humour and that is detracting from what makes him funny - that he is deadly serious. No more so when he is offered the chance to go to the North Pole

Sheldon: "It must be an emergency; everyone at the university knows that I eat my breakfast at 8 and move my bowels at 8:20."
Leonard: "Yes, how did we live before Twitter?"

Leonard: I don't think I can go to the North Pole.
Sheldon: OK, Leonard, I know you're concerned about disappointing me, but I want you to take comfort from the knowledge that my expectations of you are very low.

Raj: Is [inviting us to the North Pole] just so we won't touch your stuff while you're away?
Sheldon: I'll admit that was a concern, but the fact is I'll need a support team, and the three of you are my first choice.
Howard: Really?
Sheldon: Well, there are others who might be more qualified, but the thought of interviewing them gave me a stomach ache.

Sheldon: This is to train for a 3 months expedition to the magnetic North Pole.
Penny: What?!
Sheldon: I don't know how that sentence could possibly confuse you, [pause] but to elaborate, I'm going to the Arctic Circle with Leonard, Wolowitz and Koothrappali.

And before you all launch off on one against my opinion because you don't like it or agree with it (again, yawn as big as for some of the more recent BBT 'jokes') you might want to vote for your favourite character :

"I may not be as smart as Gretchen, but I am far more organised than the other kids"

Recess = Best. Show. Ever. Gotta' love the good old days.

But back to BBT. God, September couldn't come any slower. I want Season 4 now!

Oh right, Australia, how could I forget :spy

Why don't you just somehow obtain the rest of Season 3 from a non-illegal source?

Still going in England. Yesterday's episode saw Sheldon back to his best I thought and Raj was pretty good as well. Will be interesting to see how the show progressess now Penny and Leonard are no longer together.
