The Warm Up

Harsha Bhogle: Good morning to one and all and welcome to our special show called the warm up where all our experts along with our audiences will warm up for this game... , all right let me introduce you to our expert panel for today we have Ravi Shastri and Geoffery Boycott. So today we'll see the defending Champions warm up as they prepare to regain the world cup in the West Indies for the 3rd time . Can they do it.....Ravi?

Ravi Shastri:We'll they do start off as favouraties to win here but i just get a feeling that every team here now is better prepared , they have been playing good cricket as we saw lot of close encounters and great talent come up from when the last editon of this tournament was played..., So who knows.

H.B.:What about today's match Geoffery who'd you bet to win this one?

Geoffery Boycott: We'll as a English supporter i would want Scots to wen this un' after the trauma of the Ashes but yeah Aussies would easily taste sukcess here.

Harsha Bhogle: That would be too easy to guess for sure. Allright you people take a short commercial break as Sir Geoffery comes to terms with Ashes Defeat.

H.B.:Welcome back to this special edition show called Warm Up with Geoffery Boycott and Ravi Shastri. We will be discussing about today's game as we move on but before that let's just have a look at the pitch as we have Sanjay Manjerakar out there. Over to you Sanjay

Sanjay Manjerakar:The pitch looks to me as a good wicket not great for bowling as the ball wil not come on to the bat it will become slower as the day progresses. Not in any terms ideal for bowling altough slower bowlers will be difficult to get some runs from.

H.B.: Okay ........ that was the pitch report a slow... pitch he said intresting. What will be the mindest of Scotland and Australia as thay enter this match?

G.B.: They would definetly be looking forward to this match, they should i think look forward to stay in there fifty overs first as that would help them many ways than other. They should probably enjoy themselves.

R.S.: Australia would surely like to test a few inexperienced players first give them a platform to get thier feel in the middle right , foot movement , Confidence. I woudn't be surprised to see Mc Grath resting along with a few more regulars.

H.B: Right then quickly move on to the toss as the two captains are ready on the ground.

Sanjay Manjerakar: Australia have won the toss and elected to bat first.

H.B.: So Australia have won the toss and elected to bat first....Ravi

R.S.: Good decision a good solid batting practise will do it for them. Leave the nets behind a get prepared for the real thing. Good to see Brad Haddin getting a game here that would be a good platform for him to announce his arrival , Glenn Mcgrath and Brett Lee rested would mean not much maybe they would just want thier bowlers to be fresh also other bowlers are making thier world cup debut.

G.B.: As Ravee said nice to see Haddin gettin a game , talented kid you got there , saw him in some of the state matche's looks quite solid and positive.

H.B.: All right we are Prepared for the start of the match a short commercial break will follow the first ball of the match . Stay tuned.

Australian Team

Mathew Hayden
Brad Haddin
Ricky Pointing
Micheal Hussey
Micheal Clarke
Brad Hodge
Shane Watson
Dan Cullen
Stuart Clarke
Mitchell Jhonson
Nathan Bracken

Australia are off to a good steady start and are placed comfortably at 55/1 after 10 overs with the loss of Brad Haddin. Australia opened thier innings with Hayden and Haddin as openers. A good start to thier innings with some perfect shots by the openers on a pitch that is looking two paced at the moment.P. Hoffman got the wicket of Haddin when a delivery just outside off stump was mistimed to cover by Haddin on 13

Update

Pointing Departs
Australia have reached 143\2 after the end of 20 overs. In the mean time Pointing who was playing very positive cricket departed for a delivery which was pitched on legstump , stopped a bit beacuse of the two paced charachter of the pitch eventually he gave a simple catch to hoffman.
Australia at this stage were reduced to 71\2

Hayden Starts an Attack
Hussey came in and joined hayden who now had started to play some aggresive shots. Hayden pulled, drived, square cut and played almost all his favourate shots and reached his half century which came off just 41 balls with 6 fours and 1 six off off spinner which was a slog sweep.[/COLOR]

Partnership Grows

Hayden continued his dominance then along with Micheal Hussey who also was playing very well at the other end. While hayden slogged and slaughttered , Hussey played some exquisite shots to take the score from 71\2 to 143\2 at the end off 20 overs

Scotland in Trouble
Both Hayden and Hussey are looking Dangerous and are playing with the bowling as the Scots are having a good leather chase. Hayden and Hussey have now taken their partnership to 72* both showing great charachter and are looking at ease while the Scottish bowlers are showing average bowling. All of them are inconsistent with thier line giving the batsmen ample opportunities to score.

Australia
Hayden 80*(57)
Hussey 28*(22)

Canada
Hoffman 1\26(4)
Asim Butt 1\49(7)
