Where's Anwar in the poll? Highest ODI score to date. Classy left-handed opener. Pakistans best lefty ever. Apart from him it has to be Lara.

Brian Lara all the way. I recently got his 400* dvd and it proves how fantastic a player he really is. Fantastic off the back and front foot, excellent player of spin, has concentration that elipses anyone, plays the ball late, he's the best left hander of all time in my eyes, and possibly the best batsman i've ever seen play, closely followed by Sachin Tendulkar.

Yeah there is just no competition for Brian lara
2nd best id probaly say Hayden or Hussey

Probably, you havent seen Saeed Anwar in his peak.

Saeed Anwar was a great left handed batsman and the only time i saw him was in world cup 2003 india vs pakistan where he scored a 100 great player. i think he is the best left handed batsman pakistan ever had

WHAT!

This is a disgrace to cricket!

A)why the hell is Graeme Smith in the poll? He is rubbish.

and

B)Why have 6 people voted for him?

Oh dear.

Anyway, I guess the winner should be Brian Lara, but I've never been a fun of him, because I NEVER saw a whole innings of his where he scored 100. I'm sorry, i admit it, I've seen him bat a lot, but 95%of the times he batted me made under 30. I'm a big fan of Hayden, his class, David Gower was lovely too.
I voted for him at first reading it as Graeme Pollock, but then I decided that seeing as there was no actual Graeme Pollock option and that Graeme Smith was a silly option, I consider this to be the most accurate choice.

But anyway, lets revise.

Top 5 left-handers by Test runs scored
Lara 11953
Border 11174
Hayden 8242
Gower 8231
Sobers 8032

By average (30 inns or more)
Hussey 78
Pollock 61
Paynter 59
Sobers 58
Sangakkara 56

By total hundreds
Lara 34
Hayden 30
Border 27
Sobers 26
Langer 23

Lot of absentees from the poll when you look at it.

Gary Sobers and Brian Charles Lara would be right up there.
Matty Hayden would find a place among the best as well.

Where the hell is Kumar Sangakkara? He has been already been voted as the best Test batsman this year!

I almost forgot Sangakkara
hes great i love his way of letting the ball come on to the bat
but i still think Lara is best
Sangakkara is a bit down the list....
