Sachin is way consistant in both forms of the games, he has the best record agaisnt the best team in the world agaisnt Australia in both forms of the games, we all seen his knocks in Sharjah 98 where the team needed Sachin most, also Sachin has got more runs and 100s then Lara at home and away.

Sachin careers more then a billion hopes around his shoulders.

I'm not saying this because everyone else is but Sir Donald Bradman has to be the greatest batsman EVER. He was extremely consistent and with an average of nearly 100 in Test Matches, its clear why he is the greatest batsman ever!

Wally Hammond and WG Grace were also great batsman. The best playing batsman for me today has to be Ricky Ponting and he will be considered as an all time great, Lara isn't really in the race as FreddieFan said - he's too inconcistent.

And...............thats becuase Sachin is stuck thier at the end, or the innigns has been declered. One example his 194 not out agaisnt Pakistan in 2004.

The situation demanded it.........wherehas Lara scored 400 for his won record and di not leave much overs for his bowlers, he knew his bowlers were weak and they needed plenty of time say about 250 or more overs to take 20 wickets.

Lara is'nt that consistant, look at the great Bradman he scored 12 200s, and 2 300s and had a awsome ave of 99 which proves his consistany.

Sachin can play evreyshot in the book and he plays the on, off, cover and square drives to perfection.

Lara got 400 and 501 so what?..........Sehwag and Afridi could get 700 if they batted for 3 days.

Debating? All I see here is you being blinded by your obvious bias toward's Lara. As great as Lara and Tendulkar are they do not rank above Bradman. The fact that you are even considering anyone to be better than Bradman is ridiculous!
