Greatest Ever ODI innings

Jimmy Anderson vs West Indies in the World Cup last year. Leg bye ftw.

Virender Sehwag's 100 against New Zealand. I think it was off like 60 balls or something, that too in a crucial stage.

How about Douglas Marillier's knock to take Zimbabwe home in India? :p Not on the same level for quality but definitely for entertainment value. So many reverse sweeps...

Things that come to my mind immediately. sorry if its biased towards India

Sachin's 143 against Australia at Sharjah (What a knock! took us to the finals)

Saeed Anwar's 194 vs India (I was biting my teeth in anger, but it went on and on)

Dhoni's 183* against Sri Lanka (it was a day when he was in his zone totally)

Sachin's 98 vs Pakistan in 2003 WC (Its a classic, especially that 18 run over of Shoaib who spoke so much before the game)

Kaif's 87 vs England - Natwest 2002 (Both Kaif and Yuvraj were inseperable that day, with Kaif bringing on his best act of his life)

Most are that of India's. The thing is, I watch 99% India matches, and very rarely do I appreciate the opposition's knocks (One rare one was Anwar's which I appreciate now)

For me the best ODI innings will be and always be Viv Richard's 189 against England at Old Trafford in 1984. He had no support during that innings and he ended up posting the WI score himself, which proved to be a winning score. Luckily for him Michael Holding was able to show a little bit of resistance and they put over 100 for the final wicket since if one of them had been out then England would have chased the score down easily.

I've gotta go with Gilly's 149 (I think?) in the World Cup final - pressure on him as he'd had a bad tournament, but stepped up when it counted with a really entertaining innings.

If this knock hasn't been mentioned it should be: Kapil Dev's 175* against Zimbabwe. Sure it came against Zimbabwe, but he came in when the score was 9/4. And it was 7/78 at one-stage as well.

smite.

James Anderson is overrated, and I've seen much better performances such a freddie fed.
