The state of off-spin bowling/suspect actions/doosra bowlers worldwide

With regards to the Moeen Ali comment its more than justified since the Paks have been exiled from the IPL over the years for seemingly issues emanating from a religious perspective, Ali is an Englishman but is a devout muslim!

You guys are an absolute hoot :cheers

Now that is a clear joke, fast tracked :lol? From county cricket :lol? Maybe if he was from Yorkshire :p.

In all honesty though he doesn't look like the kind of bowler that would be effective in FC cricket anyway and his stats so far represent that.

In India and apparently for most Indians T20 is the pinnacle of cricket, go figure!

^ I still don't know how that is related to what we are discussing here but hey, good for ya bud to make us feel your presence in the thread.[DOUBLEPOST=1430768364][/DOUBLEPOST]

Alright, I will give you that. Let's just pretend that he plays for Yorkshire and Michael Vaughn has made sure that everyone knows about him.

Just about perhaps, he'd have to warm the bench for a year and lose all form beforehand though otherwise he's not eligible ;).

Deepak Hooda, Shreyas Iyer , Mayank Agrawal, Sandeep Sharma, Anureet Singh, Pravin Tambe, Ajinkya Rahane, Mohit Sharma, Chahal, Manish Pandey, Jasprit Bumrah, Suchit, Sanju Samson , Surya Kumar Yadav , Ambati Rayudu etc

This is what IPL does. But sadly you guys seems to be obsessed with BCCI and Scam thing.[DOUBLEPOST=1430769967][/DOUBLEPOST]Btw England players in shorter formats are a joke.

Deepak Hooda- Looking at his stats I presume a batsmen? His last couple of innings; 1,1, 13, 54,30.
Could be good but he averages just over 10 runs an innings in T20 cricket.

Shreyas Iyer- I like him but if you take out his 3 fifties, he has scored 109 runs in 7 innings which doesn't scream world class or consistent.

Mayank Agrawal- Once again, good but nothing to fantasies about. Made over twice his runs in 2 innings which questions consistency.

Sandeep Sharma- Good stats and economy and seems a good T20 player, but sadly that is all he will be. He won't have the threat in Tests and in ODI's as it gets into the later overs and the ball doesn't swing he will be easy pickings.

Anureet Singh- Read above.

Pravin Tambe- Have you watched this years IPL? Lost his spark and is now another Indian spinner good in India but never great.

Ajinkya Rahane- Can't argue, is a very good player.

Mohit Sharma- Had a good World Cup and is a good player, but not Test level or a world beater.

Yuzvendra Chahal- leaks runs at time, will play a lot more IPL but won't make it further.

Manish Pandey- INCONSISTENT.

Jasprit Bumrah- 1/55, 1/39, 1/38. Real gem there.

Suchit- Um... Excuse me?

Sanju Sampson- Great, another consistent, world class gem India has discovered who will undoubtedly lead India to the number 1 test playing nation.

Suryakumar Yadav- 6,0*, 2, 16, 2*, 24, 23, 11...

Ambati Rayudu- Played a couple of One Days but wasn't even in the World Cup squad so is he really a great gem found by the IPL who has become a superstar?

Sorry about that, continue with the discussion.

Be that may the WICB issues how bout the time when Bravo/Plollard/Narine chose IPL over representing the T&T Red Force in their last appearance at the IPL, even when the sports minister of Trinidad had matched their salaries? And why should the same WICB accept him now?

That has a lot do with how the IPL teams manipulation especially (Big bash also) turned the champions league into a farce, as this article from a few years ago explained when that case with Trinidad occurred:

Are IPL clubs putting pressure on players? | The Trinidad Guardian Newspaper

See I saw this thread as a promising thread where people were understanding each other's point of views and having a decent discussion. However, since War posted that absolutely horrendous article by stating "Caribbean media speaks out", it has gone downhill. I mean that was one pathetic article and I thought this thread can't get any worse. However, that Moeen Ali comment broke all the records and has to be one of the worst comment I have seen on this forum.

That windies article I can understand might rub some people the wrong way, but I can understand why the Caribbean media would react that way to the Narine situation and once again don't rule out any of the speculative things he raised. The Narine saga has a long way to go.

Ofcourse not ... the internet thrives on speculations :spy

Nice. Another speculative article

Nice. Another speculative article

There has been enough evidence of player and IPL team behaviour (including Big Bash teams) to suggest that players certainly were influenced or pressured somewhat to play in the joke champions league tournament, for teams that were from the three-boards that ran tournament.

The Trinidad situation exposed it most pertinently, because if the C-League was really like what a C-League is in football, the TT board should not have been payed off for its players, thus TT could have conceivably dominated club T20 cricket world wide in a similar way to how Barcelona did under Pep Guardiola for a few years.

Superstar, Gem, World Class ? Where I mentioned about these players are world class. :rolleyes
I meant Talents/ Upcoming good players. No player becomes Superstar after playing 5 matches.

Just wondering, are you part of England cricket's management team? I haven't seen so much stats since their last team meeting.

Sadly no, but stats don't lie.
