By strict moderation I mean, infractions and bans.

To the newbies ?? No that wont be right . After registering for PC , they immediately need to be acknowledged of all the rules and regulations while posting and only then be given access to post anything at all. Hopefully made a point there

Wow, I just read through this whole thread.
That's the most I've read at once this whole year.

I understand there's a language barrier when it comes to Indians typing in English, but how hard is it for some of them to get a spell check.

I'm not sure if it's built into PC, or if it's built into my computer/internet, but all words that I spell wrong are underlined in red.

For people who have English as their second language and aren't very good at using it, how hard is it to get a simple spell check, so when they type words incorrectly they can see it in the box where they're typing, before they click the "post reply" button.

Use Google Chrome as simple as that. :)

I think we need to redirect every new member to a page containing the rules and regulations soon after the registration is complete.
'coz at the moment a lot of them(including) me find out about certain rules only after breaking them. So a nice little page containing most commonly broken rules in bold(instead of whole 2 pages) would be nice addition.

P.S: Did you know that you get a infraction for using more than 6 emoticons in a single post :eek

That still might not solve the problem for some kids who think rules are made for them, only to be broken. There are loads of people like that.

ieSpell - Download

Please download this if anyone is having problem in speaking English. This might solve your problem

i think there should be a system where the members are forced to read the "Rules" page with a timer of say around 100 secs after they click Submit ??

after the timer is done, only then should the option of "I Read the rules carefully" ticker pop-up and then of course the "Complete Registration" button.

But what are the chances that an illiterate person will take the time to read and understand all the rules?

It's ironic that most Indian and Pakistani users on PC are illiterate/young/naive/stupid/annoying (whatever you want to call them), when compared to sites like ICF and PP who have got much less.

But the question is what drives them here and how can we eradicate them :spy

shouldnt we make more efforts to ease the situation rather than being dismissive about everything ?

I know that wont solve the problem completely but that would be a start. Take me for a example :facepalm I found out about multiple accounts rule after i was banned coz i never read the rules.
Then again i was infracted for using more than 6 smiley's in a post. Although it was a massive post, moderator explained that doesn't matter, the limit is 6 and you have broken it. Only after that i decided to read all the rules.

jkartik's suggestion was good. Forcing them to read using a 100 sec timer would help a lot too.

AngryPixel added 1 Minutes and 56 Seconds later...

Cricket07 Forum.

We can make the downloads registration free. I mean, at the moment you have to create a account to download anything from PC. So they just google "Cricket 07 mods", arrive here and then are forced to register because they wanna download those mods. If we allows downloading without registering then some of them might never come.

Thats one really great idea to eradicate spammers. By that ,newbies can download for free and get off without posting/spamming nonsense
