Wales go solo

Paul Russell, the Chairman of Glamorgan CCC has decided to break away from the ECB and form Cricket Wales to take over the governing of cricket in Wales from the CBW. Wales have been invited to play test match cricket by the ICC, much to the annoyance of Cricket Ireland and due to their admission to the highest level of international cricket they have agreed to form a national One-Day competition called "The Warburtons Welsh Challenge" to nurture talented young players in the country.

All welsh players that have played international cricket for another nation have the chance to change their allegiance to the welsh national team until the beginning of the national league. Simon Jones is one of the players that has expressed their desire to represent their homeland and Jones was very enthusiastic about the future of welsh cricket, "I think we are ready to show the world what we can do with a bat and a ball...game on!"

The progress of welsh cricket will be heavily scrutinised in the coming years by all cricket fans...

League Format and Rules:

-Players will be selected by draft in the leagues social group.

-Each team must have: 8 Welsh players, 4 British Players (English, Irish, Scottish, Jersian, Guernsian), 3 Europeans (The Netherlands, Denmark, Italy...) and 3 Overseas (Australia, India, West Indies...)

-Each team will have an 18 man squad.

-You must have at least 4 welsh players in your match day XI.

-The League will be made up of 2 groups. Each team will play each other twice (home and away). The top 2 from each group progress to the cup semi-final and the bottom 2 from each group progress into the plate semi-final:

Cup Winner: 1st place
Cup Runner-Up: 2nd place
3rd place play-off winner: 3rd place
3rd place play-off runner-up: 4th place

Plate Winner: 5th place
Plate Runner-Up: 6th place
7th place play-off winner: 7th place
7th place play-off runner-up: 8th place

I am using Syedur Rehman's Cricksim and all matches will be 50 overs.
