azmatullah-omarzai-afghan-bat.png

Azmatullah Omarzai can hardly believe it as his teammates throw away the perfect platform he's set up for Afghanistan's chase.

The Afghans threw away the advantage in both innings - firstly, by letting Heinrich Klaasen take the game away after they had South Africa at 95/5. Then in the second innings, they needed 84 runs in 20 overs with 7 wickets in hand, only to lose the plot as Anrich Nortje cracked an opening out of nowhere and Mohammad Nabi ate up half the remaining innings for only 12 runs.

curtis campher.jpg

Curtis Campher turns superhuman to sink defending champions Pakistan and power Ireland to their second semi-finals in two editions of the WICKET.

After Ireland lost their openers, there were two strong middle order partnerships with Harry Tector and George Dockrell supplementing a brilliant century from Campher. Saim Ayub took 3 wickets, but surprisingly Naseem Shah didn't bowl. Campher then masterfully trapped Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman lbw to immediately derail the Pakistan chase, before coming back to deny Salman Agha a century.
