This is the best cricket game of all time

So I'll just put this here as a guide just in case you ever feel like improving the horrendous effort that was released today.

This was the greatest cricket I ever played. I remember my older brother introducing me to it.

In fact BLIC 99 got me interested in the game. I think the stand out feature of this game wasn't just the array of stadiums, tournaments, teams and attention to detail but also the feeling that the game was 'alive', you really felt like you were in the game, if that makes any sense.

NO other cricket game has done what this game did....and that's a real shame.

No cricket game has had the flick off the toes or the on-drive as beautiful as BLIC 99. Cover drives and cut shots weren't too shabby either.

If you can, do get the game on PS2. It's a gem. Makes you sad that a PS1/PS2 game released in 90s is miles better than a game released in 2013 It can only happen in cricket I guess. We, cricket gaming fans, are a cursed lot

BLC99 would get competition only from BLIC05 and BLIC07 . I found Cricket 2004 PC shots a touch classy too . Hopefully DBC14 trumps all these "old" games

I played my copy of Blic99 on the PS1 so much my parents had to hide it so I would do something else. I simply adored that game and it is rather quite sad that no other cricket game has captured my attention as much.

I think this may have finally lost its crown to a well-modded cricket 07, but it captured the atmosphere and intricacies of the game so well considering the tech available.

Oh boy. So many beautiful memories attached to this game
The shots were all fluid and I loved the sound of ball hitting the bat.
It also had some really good features like stat tracking and the crowd wouldn't like you if you were a visitor

Used to spend hours playing this with a mate of mine. There was even a line in the commentary when you broke Lara's batting record. Alan Mullally was my favourite player in the game, he was some sort of all round genius for me regularly getting 50 plus runs in an innings.

It's crazy to think that no other game has really captured the essence of cricket in the way this game did. We really have been let down ever since, but Ashes13 has got to be an all time low. Watched the video, the sound of the bat on ball at 3:52 is fantastic and again has never been bettered.

Unfortunately there was a huge flaw with BLIC99.. Unless I am mistaken it was just as easy to hit 50 with Mullally as it was with Tendulkar. There were no attributes that actually made a difference to any of the batsmen, the average on the screen was just for cosmetic purposes. This turned anotherwise perfect game into a very flawed one in my opinion..
