Welcome to the Twenty20 World Championship, a first of its kind to be contested between 10 nations! This mega tournament is going to be hosted by Australia and is sponsored by the two major rivals in multinational soft drink companies, Coca Cola and Pepsi!

This speciality of this tournament is going to be that its going to be a 20 overs slog fest World Championship between the top international nations! Second, this tournament is going to have 3 teams controlled by the user (i.e. ME!). The three teams are going to be India, Pakistan and England. The priority order for the user teams are

  • India
  • Pakistan
  • England

Suppose India faces Pakistan in a match, India becomes the user team! In a Pakistan-England match, Pakistan is the user team! All matches are going to be Day/Night affairs with the matches starting late in evening under lights!

This thread would be completed before India embark on a 6 test series against Australia!

Results of Matches so far

New Zealand vs West Indies - West Indies win by 26 runs

Australia vs Sri Lanka - Australia win by 5 wickets!

Pakistan vs England - England win by 2 runs!

India vs South Africa - South Africa win by 10 wickets!

Canada beat USA by 32 runs

Kenya beat Namibia by 15 runs

Pakistan vs New Zealand - Pakistan win by 16 runs

Sponsors for the Championship!

Pepsi and Coca Cola have sorted out their rivalry and have joined together to sponsor this mega championship tournament! Both would be getting an equal share of the profits from this tournament!

Sachin Tendulkar welcomes Twenty20 Championship!

sachin_tendulkar.jpg

Sachin Tendulkar has welcomed to the idea of having a Twenty20 World Championship between the 10 test playing nations in the world. Here are the excerpts of his interview with PTI

"This is going to be a totally new concept which I am sure its going to be a big hit! A 20 overs game adds a lot of excitement what with big hitting going on in the middle! And with the world's best players in action, I am sure the spectators are going to be having a blast of a time out there in Australia!

I am definitely very excited to play this tournament and would definitely try my best to win it for India!"

Ricky Ponting questions the need for such a tournament!

Just when Sachin Tendulkar welcomed the announcement of the twenty20 World Championship, Ricky Ponting sounded the opposite! An elated Ponting who has recently led Australia to a crushing 2-0 win over the World XI in the Super Series to stake Australia's claim as the best in the world, questioned the need for such a tournament!

"I dont think such a tournament would provide the international teams to display their skills on the field! A world championship is all about outdoing the other team! But a Twenty20 match doesnt offer that much of an opportunity to do that! But anyways, my goal is to ensure that Australia win the tournament and retain their supremacy over the rest of the nations
