Tour match thread -Scotland v Australia Aug 28

The recent performances of Aussies have shown their weakness to spin. Any off spinner in this side which can roll his arm over as I think they are only playing with Rashid who's a leggie.

Still wayward and average pace then?

The pitch is good one. No movement off pitch for him.

Think we need to bring Rash on for a couple of overs before lunch. Just to test Hussey and Katich out, see if they can pick his Googly.

Yeh, Mahmood's still bowling shite. I thought his first over would have been a loosener and his pace would rapidly increase, but he's still bowling slower than Harmy, Onions and Bres.

Have a look at the scorecards on the Lions winter tour. A lot of his wickets were tailenders. He had a pretty high RPO to iirc.

Btw how big is the crowd.

Looks pretty full. I think it may even be full capacity.

Mahmood always has been and always will be a wasteman. And that's coming from a Lancastrian.

Here comes the real test I believe, if Rashid bowls tight and puts doubt into the Aussie's mind then I reckon' we might see Rashid in for England possibly alongside Swann.

I really hope he does well here, I would love to see him play in the first test.

About 75-80% full.

Just saw Hughes dismissal. That was a lethal ball.

Geee, the way Rashid is bowling. It's not turning greatly at the moment. If he bowls like that to Katich, he'll just pick him off.

Katich and Hussey have been really good. They've taken there time and picked off the runs well. Not sure why England persist on leg-side bowling to Katich. He walks across his stumps because he wants you to bowl there. Lol at Onions dropping the catch though. You won't get too many more of those.

Rashid hasn't been great, his first over only spun a tad mroe then the stuff Clarke throws down. He started getting a tad more spin but his length was wrong, and when he got the length right it was too close to leg stump. I think going around the wicket would be a good idea for the pacers and Rashid to Katich after lunch.
