Tour match thread -Scotland v Australia Aug 28

Lee was having fun with crowd playing with Kangaroo and then Punter decides he has had enough of crowd mixing and calls him to bowl. Look what he does after that. :p

Lee bowling brillianty. Inswinging yorkers and deadly bouncers. A treat to watch.

Did you just see the swing on the last bouncer?! It was crazy and good take from Haddin.

Whatever work the openers did has been undone by Lee. Atm Aussies will be happy. Hussey and Lee are back in form now they only need some spin from Hauritz.

Australia will not be happy by this. Thus far none of the bowlers have looked very good bar Lee and only Katich and Hussey looked good with the bat. There's a few chinks that England can go after on the basis of this match.

Lee looks awesome right now. He's regularly touching 95 mph and is landing some stunning inswinging yorkers.

I've only closely followed speeds since 2005 so this may be wrong, but is that the quickest Lee spell you've seen in an non limited overs match?

Just woke up and saw the figures  Go Binga, and from the comments here, sounds like he deserved them. But the best thing is that there is a ZERO in the no balls column. Can it be true?? If so it shows he's hit some good rhythm, very encouraging.

Mitch bowled 6 NBs though , but this game is all about getting back into stride for him. It was slightly risky giving Mitch only 1 of the 2 warmups since he seems to need a few starts under his belt when coming back from a spell (in racing lingo).

But the XI for Cardiff seems basically confirmed now, North will be the #6 by default and it's just Stuart Clark v Nathan Hauritz for the 4th bowling spot. Hopefully the pitch isn't a turner and we can play Clark. But that might be a plus for the England boys too, since Monty probably wouldn't play then either ;).

Well in Lee, hopefully he keeps this form up in the Ashes. He definitely deserves his spot now. Johnson was seriously expensive, hoping it's just a case of his 1st hit out as he wasn't too impressive in the overs he bowled during the T20 WC.

Spinner wise, Hauritz has been ineffective, he will have the 2nd inns to gain a spot otherwise Clark with his economy has to be the 4th bowler.

Is it just me or did North bowl a no ball every time he bowled around the wicket. I though your feet had to be within the lines at the sides(Return creases) or is it just your back foot that has to be?

Just the back foot.

Well after that preformance Lee has pretty much sealed his place in the first test, nice :D

Johnson was really exspensive too, and down on pace wasnt he?

I wasn't expecting that from Lee! I thought Johnson would perform much better, I hope he hits some form by the time the first test comes around.

Fair enough. I think Johnson wasn't bowling full out tbh, probably to save himself for the first test. Having said that I think the Aussies should be a little concerned considering the run around Denley and Moore gave them today doing a lot better than most of the Aussie team. Having said that England haven't played too well against Warwickshire. What does everyone think will be the Aussie squad for first test then?

Did Johnson get any sort of swing? If hes lost that again then he could become a worry for us again.

The 1st test side is basically picked with the exception of the 4th bowling spot which is between Clark and Hauritz.
