England suffered their second defeat in 2 games after a crushing 148 run defeat. G.Jones Top scored for England with 28 before getting given LBW to a ball that seemed high and going down the leg side. For NSW all three seamers took 3 wickets with Mcgrath being the most economic with his 3 for 30 from 8 overs. England now head into the VB Series without a win under theri belt suggesting a difficult tour for them this year. However on the birght side they have bowled well in some areas and have taken lots of wickets but if the batsmen don't perform this is useless.

B.LEE STRUGGLES:

- G.Jones plays some big shots resulting in a egde agonisingly close to the diving Haddin.

JONES DEPARTS:

- After looking settled Jones is harshly given LBW.

ALL OVER:

- Another wicket and this match is almost definetly over.

As you can see the overall rating suggest a closer game, however this is wrongsince NSW innings was basically built around 2 good innings and some good seam/swing bowling. So will England fail in the VB Series find out soon.

VB Series Match 1:
January 14th 2006
Australia V England - TELSTRA DOME, MELBOURNE

ENGLAND TO FACE AUSTRALIA IN OPENING GAME

With the warm up agmes completed, England, Pakistan and Australia begin the much anticipated VB Series. Australia with there new VB Series kit will play eight games, 4 againts England and the other 4 against Pakistan.
Australia will play a squad much the smae as what was used in the Super Series, however it is believed that M.Hayden has reclaimed his openign spot after showing form in the Super Test Series. For England M.Prior is unlikely to start as England s wicket nor will L.Plunkett start nor A.Loudon. Therefore the squad will seem simular to that used in the Natwest Series 2005.
It is believed that the Telstra dome will be packed to capacity with a small proportion being English, Therefore this series will be intense and exciting for all viewers.

Pakistan Zindabad!

Australia and England Na Harna Ha! Wo Paagal Ha!

TRANSLATION : Long Live Pakistan

Australia and England will lose! They're crazy idiots!

but it sounds better in urdu :D

VB Series Match 1:

Australia V England - TELSTRA DOME, MELBOURNE D/N

AUSSIE BAT FIRST IN VB OPENER

A capacity Telstra Dome have come to watch to great nations fight in a Day/Night contest. M.Hayden makes it back in the Australia starting eleven and S.Katich was named 12th man. S.Watson did not make the 12 and instead B.Hogg makes an appearence with the ever reliable A.Symonds and M.Hussey. For England its business as usual with the 4 pace men and A.Giles. At the top M.Vaughan keeps his spot despite the lack of runs.
With the players out in the middle the VB Series is underway.
