W3lshrugby Makes Shock Decision

The long-running saga surrounding the possible transfer of
Vatican Victors player, W3lshrugby, appears to have drawn
to a surprising conclusion following an announcement from the
player about his own future. He has admitted that he hadn't
expected as much interest, and felt like ending the saga now
to avoid causing anymore damage to the Victors reputation.

Over the past couple of weeks, interest in the legendary
legspinner has been rife, with all other teams harbouring
some kind of interest for a very influential player and captain.

Bids had been formally received from Dublin Destroyers (undisc.),
Toronto Tanks (550k) and Manchester Divided (1.5mn), however, the
club based on holy ground had appeared to refuse all bids, citing
a requirement for the bid to be increased to well over 2 million
vCash before any discussion over a possible move could begin.

However, all of the transfer issues could now be considered
redundant as W3lshrugby has come out publicly backing the
Vatican Victors, and has made the decision to
remain at the Papal club for PCPL2 following lengthy discussions with
the ownership consortium over contract issues ranging from
a weekly bonus, to an automatic release clause if the club
do not promote to the Premier League this coming season.

W3lsh has been quoted as saying; 'I am totally committed to
helping the Vatican Victors become a top-tier team once again,
and through both my captaincy and bowling (and the extra money
on top of it), I hope that the Victors can come out, well, victors,
and regain their rightful place, some would say, their divine
place within the PCPL system - at the top!'

Vatican are yet to comment, although it is believed that they are
delighted with their captain's decision and look forward to working
with him over the current season, despite his inevitable desire to be
a top-tier player.
However, for now, it looks as if W3lsh is happy where he is and
is looking forward to the challenge of captaining the Victors in
their bid to regain top-tier status this season.
