Nice work mate. A couple of suggestions though. I think a look at Cricket PK's sig(post above) should suffice. Like in that sig, unless you are doing some discreet vector shapes, the textures(background), should be less prominent relative to the subject. Also you'll notice in PK's sig, how the colours of both the subject and the background blend nicely into each other. Brett Lee has actually be colorized to suit the colour scheme of the whole image. You can achieve this easily with gradient maps, or even by adjusting the colour balance. The text though is going nowhere. In this particular image I'd suggest you keep the text simple and straightforward. I know it's very exciting to make very complex images but balance is more important. Keep up the good work!
