Franklin is getting out swing, first bowl got a huge nick from Gayle. NZ will need to pick up a wicket early with this swing or else Vettori probably will need to take all 10 wickets.

Well the West Indies start quite confidently with Gayle getting 30 from 25 balls already. The absence of Bond is certainly a huge blow to NZL.

Wow what a catch by McCullum. Franklin and Mils have struck removing the openers. WI really need to stay in there and wait to after lunch.

WOOOOO!!!

Great start by our bowlers. Franklin in particular. The Mills wicket was a little unlucky but he did get an edge right between two slips before.

The outfield is absolutly lightning. Good to see Franklin step up in Bond's absence.

Man ! Lara fails again, this poor score is not going to help his confidence a lot. He should have made his presence felt as a senior player, especially when the team needed him.

That LBW to Chanderpaul off Vettori should of been given :(

Hes loking good again. Good to see him early.

Another poor decision, this time just before lunch. Chanderpaul didn't hit the ball. Two wrongs don't make a right though.

yea, his pre-match talk didn't do him any good. The middle order has some crisis, i thought they would make use of the opportunity with Bond failing to get fit. Morton has the best chance to make use of this rare opportunity, and score big. It'll put pressure on the rest of middle order.

May be remove Chanderpaul from captaincy. People say he isn't comfortable with captaincy and it has clearly affected his batting.

I agree, Chanderpaul probably won't be captain for too much longer.

People always talk about Lara, its no excuse. He just isn't in form at the moment.

has James Franklin finally come of age??

does any1 know if Bravo will be bowling, i hope he does :D

Franklin always does this in Wellington. This is his home ground and he always gets wickets here, I think he even has a hatrick at this ground. Just wait to he gets back the flat wickets then he'll be the Franklin Langer has come to love. :)

Same happened in Australia to Lara. Started off badly, received some very bad decisions and in the 3rd and final test Lara delivered with a double century. I sense something simlar will happen. Lara is too good to be out of form for a long duration
