West Indies Tour of Australia 2010

They sure are giving Voges a lot of chances, would much prefer to try Smith.
Would have liked to have seen Steve Smith in for Watson as I assume Paine will open with Marsh.

Hopes will be replacing Watson as the all-rounder I would imagine. Voges will ride the bench as usual. I doubt he gets a run.

Unless they are gonna rest Hauritz, I don't really see a spot for Smith in the side. And if they both played, I don't think Ponting wouldn't bowl Smith much - he prefers to rely on pace in tight spots.

Yeah but what is resting someone for two games going to do. Its no different then having a game a week apart. I dont agree with this resting thing. They should name team and stick with it. If they wanted to rest someone, rest them for the whole series, then they will actually recover.

It's a balance between resting and losing form. You can see it with Mitch Johnson. 4 games is probably too long to sit out and he's looked a bit rusty. Well rested, but rusty. I imagine the selectors don't want that - hence no one sitting out the whole series. They would want the players still feeling confidence from their recent performances but not sitting out too long that they stagnate.

And to say having a week off is no different from playing is a bit silly, especially for 2 high workload guys like Watson and Haddin. They can kick back and do nothing for a week, not being subjected to meaningless travel, practices, functions and of course the games themselves.

May as well rest Hauritz, he could do with a break since hes played in every match this summer apart from a 3 hour T20I match.

Groan, Adam Voges is back in the team. Pretty boring squad, again. Hopefully we will see something quirky for the fifth game.

Didn't Chris Gayle diss Bollinger before the second test? Now they return to Adelaide, and he can't pick him.

Cricinfo predict that Voges and Hopes will miss out.
Australia (possible) 1 Shaun Marsh, 2 Tim Paine (wk), 3 Ricky Ponting (capt), 4 Michael Clarke, 5 Cameron White, 6 Michael Hussey, 7 Mitchell Johnson, 8 Ryan Harris, 9 Nathan Hauritz, 10 Clint McKay, 11 Doug Bollinger.

I hope they do!

Twice this year a team has been bowled out for 127 at the SCG!

Well Johnson is pretty much about Hopes level in batting, hes actually probably done better when we collapsed than Hopes and his hitting out is about par. And if you look at the tail it still goes to 10 so not a huge risk.
