West Indies Tour of Australia 2010

Anyone but Simmons.

Get this complete fail of a series over already, then get the NZ over please too, that will be fail. Move on to the England tour in June/July- that will be awesome.

Yeah, it's totally unfair that Australia have to play such teams as Pakistan and the West Indies during their summer. International cricket should only be played by four teams right?

It has been a bit dissapointing, especially the fact that we have moved nowhere in the rankings :facepalm

But it is always fun playing the kiwis, they should put up a much better fight. Even if they don't it's not so bad to give them a thrashing ;) :D

Good knocks by Deonarine, Pollard and Smith. KP definitely needs to be promoted, hes wasted at 7 and is left with way too much to do.

Hopes didn't have the best day with the ball, could have all but got himself ahead of Marsh if he went better with the ball.

.

Simmon's been the biggest disappointment for me. He looked great when I saw him in the last T20 world cup, but he's been awful here.

Had to laugh hard when the Nine boys were pimping Pollard hard, saying how he should be in the Test team, and batting much higher and then the graphic flashed up: HS 42. Haha. That's why... To me Pollard's no more special than Symonds or Afridi and neither of those guys were much chop in the Test game. Let's at least see him make a few first class centuries first.

Pollard and Smith remind me (in potential at least) of the Razzaq/Afridi combo that used to come in late for Pakistan on their previous tour of Aus. They'd always have a lot of work to do. But anyway, I was gobsmacked how slowly Smith/Pollard batted last night. There was barely a risk. Hauritz bowled 3-4 cheap overs near the end when the asking rate was 10-12 and they didn't really try to tonk him. It was a super weak effort IMHO. Sure they were scoring at 6, but I'm sure Ponting would have been thrilled.

And Hopes really should be nowhere near the final overs. His length balls are cannon fodder I'm afraid. Did well with the bat though and Mark Taylor must have called him 'a handy cricketer' about 15 times (as usual). To me, he's the jack of all trades, master of none.

This summer has see the worst commentating by the Nine boys, atrocious stuff. Usually they speak their minds but this summer their sole job has been to pump the tyres of the crap touring teams. Its been truly awful to listen to them.

I had to laugh when they were saying its only a matter of time before Pollard is in the test team, and that he should bat at 4 or 5. They cant rate the current middle order at all then.

Pollard seems to bat more sensibly than Afridi, actually seems to have control and hes put a string of solid knocks together. Hes still got a long way to go before making the Test side, needs to string a solid couple of years in ODI.

Afridi as a batsman is just a joke, Pollard is much better. But both are not test batsmen yet, but Pollard has much more of a chance getting into the side if there are injuries around, otherwise their top 6 is not bad, with Nash and Shiv holding things up, Pollard could do a job.

WI test batting depth looks to be really good I would say their 2nd Test lineup against us was their best lineup and that leaves out Deonarine and Dowlin. So unless Bravo gets injured, Pollard is quite a way down the order.

I think Pollard could eventually get in the test side. He is only what? 22? it could take him 5 years to make the test team but I think it will happen.

He needs more experience against international opposition. If Brendan Nash can make it he can.

I don't really see who else should be batting at 5, even with Sarwan and Chanderpaul back. Also take that into account when thinking about who they pick in Tests. I think the West Indies would have loved to have Symonds at 5 or 6 in Tests.

Yeah why not?
