Smith got hammered around but managed to pick up 2 wickets. I can see Ponting afraid of using him in pressure situations in the future.

I think does really well in pressure situations going by his bowling in the Champions League and the Big Bash- he was economical and got wickets in a slogging situation.

WI had nothing to lose and Smith was on ODI debut so an okay debut. Hes obviously not ready to play as a bowler alone but I'm confident he can play as a batter and bowl although with Hopes going so well he'll find it hard breaking into the ODI side anytime soon.

I thought Gayle would come off in at least one innings, but not to be. Sad really, the series was truly awful. This summer's ODI series v Pak/WI has been the worst for a long time in this country, since 2000/01 when we cleaned up WI and Zim. 02/03 and 03/04 werent so great either.

Bollinger has that effect on players Take him out and who knows he might have been a lot more consistent.

Agree with the summer, not a good idea to have two lower ranked nations coming over here at the same time. Of course WI having a lot of injuries didn't help. Need to have at least one top team touring here each year.

This year doesnt look good for the Aussies, minnows aplenty. We play NZ then we play Pakistan AGAIN!

I really think England might have the edge over us. We keep on playing lesser teams and guys like Ryan Harris, Clint McKay and Doug Bollinger will all think they're the best bowlers in the world in time for the ashes with good average's. Then the Aussie selectors will do something stupid like not play Hilfenhaus or Siddle and England will destroy us in the first test.

Its odd, we beat SA in SA- a much stronger team then Eng, then we lose to Eng in Eng, Doesnt make sense. I really dont think you can say for sure who is going to win any series between the top 4. Crazy how SA thrash India in the 1st test and then its reversed in the 2nd, its so tight. You'd figure last season if we were going to lose to SA it would be in SA not in our backyard, but SA just folded once they got home which was spastic.
