Justin Langer has hit another good score to have the Aussies in control at 0/86. He smashed six fours in his 50, three were huge cover drives from half volley bowling. He also glanced one down to fine leg and charged a short pitch ball to smash it over mid on. LANGER ANNIHILATES WINDIE ATTACK

Justin Langer has slaughtered the Windies bowling attack (particularly Chris Gayle) to reach an inspirational hundred off just 135 balls with 14 fours and 2 six's. The second six brought up his hundred. Langer has taken advantage of wide and short bowling mostly by Gayle to smash fours through third man and the covers. His two sixes were in this region as well. The crowd was obviously overjoyed to see Langer reach his second hundred in as matches. The alarming this for the Windies is the rate he is scoring his runs. At one stage he hit 28 runs in 2 overs. Justin Langer's innings here will definitely be remembered for a long time...

Justin Langer has finally been bowled for 113. Langer tried to flick away a ball that stayed onto his legs but unluckily bottom edged it onto his middle stump. Langer received a standing ovation for his innings which included two sixes. The Aussies now have a commanding position?

Ricky Ponting has finally found some form on the tour after reaching a half century. Ponting was a lot more subdued then Langer?s but was still played skilfully. Ponting is now a dangerous player as he will be looking to go over the infield and start playing more aggressively?

MARTYN RUNOUT

The Windies have claimed their third wicket of the match by running out Damien Martyn. It was a controversial decision as Martyn?s bat appeared to be just in. This should have meant that the umpire gave the batsmen the benefit of the doubt. This obviously wasn?t the case for the third umpire today who ruled Martyn runout for 26?

WINDIES GAIN TWO QUICK WICKETS

The West Indians have clawed the Aussies back well by getting Ponting and Hussey in successive overs. Ponting was the first to go, Collymore bowled an inswinger that hit him on the pads. They were almost half way down when ponting realised that Hussey would be runout so he gave his wicket away. Unfortunately the captain gave his wicket away for nothing, the very next over Hussey was caught in the covers off Hinds.

GILCHRIST SMASHES BIGGEST 6 EVER RECORDED IN AUSTRALIA

Adam Gilchrist has entered the record books yet again by smashing a Gayle ball into the last tier of the MCG. The crowd of members who had never seen a ball that close up before dived for cover while the rest of the crowd booed them for not trying to catch it. This could actually be one of the biggest sixes ever in cricket history all around the world. Gilly was heard saying afterwards "God, I hit that well"

AUSSIES DECLARE ON MASSIVE 6/467

The Aussies are in a winning position after declaring with a lead of 219. The highlight of the innings was now definitely Gilchrist's unbeaten 78* where he smashed 6 sixes and 9 fours. Gilchrist's innings has almost certainly put the Windies out of the game, it is just a question now of the Windies batting abilities to guide them to a draw...

The Windies have to play defensively here, The Aussies have forced them into a corner where really the only option is a draw. The one thing going in favour of the Windies is the weather, Storms are predicted during the later part of the day so the Aussies must roll the West Indians quickly before time and the weather catches up...
