UPDATE: 30 OVERS

The West Indies have completely slowed down and are now floundering at 83/3 after 30 overs. Brad Hogg claimed the vital wicket of Wavell Hinds. Hogg bowled a sharp leg break which Hinds tried to sweep but completely missed and lost the top of his off stump in the process. The Windies really need to slog and play brilliantly just to get to 200. Shiv Chanderpaul has been one of the reasons for the incredibly slow run rate, He has made 7 runs in around 50 balls...

UPDATE: 40 OVERS

The Windies have been completely outdone by the Aussies today. They have scored incredibly slowly and it is showing on the scoreboard. The Aussies have kept them to just over 100 runs in 240 balls which is an outstanding performance. Shiv Chanderpaul was the last man to fall, He was bowled by an inswinging yorker from Andrew Symonds. The Windies now must look to reach around 180 if they have any hope of defending the small total...

UPDATE: WINDIES CRUMBLE

The West Indians have failed to even reach 150 in their alloted overs after some disgracefully slow batting from the top order. The middle and tail orders had to fight to keep the run rate up which they tried to do but failed miserably. Some major reshuffles of the lineup can be expected next week. A highlight of the innings was an absolute pearler from Gilly. Gilchrist dived infront of Punter at first slip to take a miracle catch off Brett Lee's bowling. The Aussie quick's bowled very well, with Lee taking 4 and McGrath taking 3...

Very poor effort from the Windies, just allowing the Australians to take control. Great to see the superb presentation still going :)

It wasn't actually just the Windies, It was Shiv Chanderpaul. 8 runs of 75 balls

UPDATE: 10 OVERS

The Australians have made a good and steady start to their innings by putting 44 runs on the board in 10 overs. They currently have a good run rate and look like they will chase down the small total easily. Katich and Gilchrist are playing well within themselves and the pressure is beggining to show on the Windie bowlers' faces...

UPDATE: 20 OVERS

The Australians have continued their steady march towards victory despite loosing Gilchrist. Gilly was caught at point as he tried to charge a wide ball from Lawson. To the crowd's delight Ponting hammered his first two balls to the fence. One was his trade mark pullshot and another was a beautifull lofted off drive over the bowlers head. Katich has been playing steadily at the other end and is now within reach of his 50...
