WARNEY STRIKES

Shane Warne has picked up his first wicket to leave the Windies at 127/2. Warne deliberatley floated a juicy half volley to the agressive Gayle who couldn't help himself. It might have gone for 6, but the safe hands of Glen McGrath got in the way to send Gayle on his way for 32.

B.Lara 52*
S.Chanderpaul 0*
WIN: 2/127

Last Wicket: C.Gayle: c G.McGrath b S.Warne

G.McGrath 1/28 (15)
B.Lee 0/40 (16)
N.Bracken 0/15 (6)
S.Warne 1/35 (9)
S.Watson 0/1 (1)

TEA DAY 1

WIN: 2/144
B.Lara 65*
S.Chanderpaul 8*

G.McGrath 1/28 (15)
B.Lee 0/46 (15)
S.Watson 0/1 (1)
S.Warne 1/44 (14)
N.Bracken 0/22 (10)

Summary: Again the Windies only lost 1 wicket in a session and piled on the runs. The Aussies are really now on the backfoot as the danger man Lara is still out there and looking strong. If he recieves support from Chanderpaul the Windies could be looking at a total around 350 which would almost out the Aussies out of the game...

Chanderpaul Runout

Shiv Chanderpaul has again failed at a crucial moment in the game. Lara was hit on the glove by a Warne ball which flicked past Gilchrist. There was definitely a single but Chanderpauls indecision cost him his wicket when a beautiful Justin Langer throw straight to Gilly sent him back to the pavillion.

Last Wicket: S.Chanderpaul: Runout (J.Langer)

B.Lara 65*
R.Sarwan 0*
WIN:3/149

SARWAN FALLS

Glenn McGrath has claimed his second and most important wicket of the match. Sarwan tried to smash a McGrath off-cutter over the top of point but got an edge which skied in the air and was eventually caught at point by Shane Watson. This is a big breakthrough as now the only batsmen left are the inexperianced Wicket Keeper Ramdin and the weak lower order...

B.Lara 82*
D.Ramdin 0*
WIN:4/175

Last Wicket: R.Sarwan: c S.Watson b G.McGrath

G.McGrath 2/40 (20)
S.Warne 1/49 (22)
N.Bracken 0/22 (10)
B.Lee 0/56 (21)
S.Watson 0/1 (1)

very nice use of graphics. keep it up. top stuff

Brilliant comeback by the Aussies. I am backing King Lara to get a big one here!

Whenever the Windies look to be re-building there's another vital breakthrough, great work with the whole story. And I'm pretty sure he's using that Doctor's pro-test patch based on what he wrote in the download thread yesterday. (Just out of curiousity why didn't you just resume the story from your old thread?)

Hey Groobz, Thanks for the comment mate. I got the first wicket using cricket doctors patch but then switched to tutsi's v4 which have got all the others.

James: I decided to start a new one rather then bump the old one back up. No reason really.

Does anyone know if it is possible to change your thread title? If so can you reply on how to do it.

:cheers guys

*updates coming soon

LARA REACHES 100

Brian Lara has provided a solid inning with which the West Indians can build a good total. He has reached the century mark by playing confidentaly and agressively against the tight Aussie bowling. Lara was even clapped on the back by Ricky Ponting who had a verbal war with him in the days leading up to the test match, This shows how good this innings was. Lara has attacked Brett Lee particularly, attacking his fiery bouncers with great skill.

B.Lara 100*
D.Ramdin 21*
WIN: 4/221

PM the mods [MWaugh or Sai] with your new title. They will do it for you.

Oh Wow! Lara is on fire. Go Brian Charles Lara!

END OF DAY

Summary: The Aussies can be very happy with the score they kept the Windies too at the end of the day. They were looking down the barrel at one stage at 1/125 so having the Windies down four wickets for just over 100 more runs will definitely be a confidence booster going into the next day's play.
