Hussey has played some really good shots but could also have been out pretty easily to. Not looking as solid as Ponting and Katich did for most of their innings but with the way his luck has been with getting a few bad decisions during his poor patch maybe fate will shine on him today

Hussey is starting to look more confident again. He will want to go on and making another 100 to confirm the faith the selectors put in him.

Well he is at the peak of his powers in the longer form. He might struggle and look like a snail in the shorter formats but hes become arguably our best test batsmen atm.

Hussey will either
A. Make a ton
B. Go out hit wicket

His back foot just nearly took out the stumps, he's getting back heaps. :P

EDIT: Or caught and bowled.

Hope North found some form from somewhere, he wasn't getting much game time after he injured his wrist and as Ian Chappell points out, he got out to spin a couple of times.

Great catch by Gayle, just changed channel after watching the NZ PAK match, and it was the third ball I watched.

Pretty standard first day of a test really. As was mentioned all the Australians (bar Watson) got starts but nobody went on with it. In the end it's not a huge problem as the team total is looking quite healthy

Our batters should have gone on, too many starts with no 100s. Hussey remains in neutral ground, really needed a 100.

Not for his first 50.

Nontheless, you gotta agree he looks much more confident?

Yea, he looked a lot more confident then he did say during the Ashes, but that doesn't really mean much. Hussey looked alright, he was quite edgy at the start of his innings though.
