The white flag shown by Gayle, bringing on Barath. Don't know why he hasn't gone to Rampaul.

Yea might as well finish strong. I still have no idea if anyone has been named to replace Taylor. Sammy or Rampaul wont be playing in the next test, I think that Gavin Tinge will be brought in for some extra firepower.

Ah I see he was giving AB a chance to do a miracle before calling stumps. Well played WI, came back well after the criticism they copped. They also have 3 more 100s than us, just a shame there is no Taylor and Edwards.

I would keep Rampaul, he looked good today and he can bat. Sammy offers nothing.

Yea I'd get rid of Sammy. He doesn't really offer the team much tbh. Tonge should play the 3rd test but the West Indies should of brang either Nelon Pascal or Kevin McClean over to play in Perth, both 150K bowlers and probably would of loved Perth.

Gayle is the MOM, played only well in 2nd innings and he got

Probably Gayle. He scored 166 and the next top score was 27, it was a great knock. Dwayne Bravo should be one player to consider though.

Bravo a better choice and even Watson played quite well and contributed from ends just like Bravo :) I think Gayles lone innings has given him the MOM.

Brang = Brought;)????
Who have they sent in as a replacement for Taylor anyway? The problem for the Windies is that if they decide to drop Sammy and bring in Tonge, they`d lose out on someone who could bat a bit and I don`t think they feel comfortable with such a long tail. We`ve seen West Indies in the recent past going in with a side packed with batsmen (against England in tests and in a Champions Trophy game in 2006). In that case, they might have to drop Rampaul who had`nt done a lot before the second innings today. From whatever little I saw of the action in the post-lunch session, Rampaul was getting good swing into the right hander today.

Otherwise, as you said, Sammy is`nt a test class bowler though he does keep things tight but ideally they should go in with a wickettaker, especially at a venue like Perth.

Rampaul got 40 not out in the 1st innings and Benn is capable of batting, you don't need to bat down to 10. Plus the Windies only had 2 bowlers above 140, and Rampaul looked to be using the wind to reach that mark. The other two seamers were in the low 120s which isn't good enough at this level. You need 3 guys at least in the mid 130s.

But the point is that I don`t think the West Indies would feel comfortable with either Ben or Rampaul batting at No.8.

They're looking to win in Perth, they'll just have to be.

West Indies were only in the game because of their decent 1st innings score.

On a more difficult earlier pitch which the WACA offers, I think the WI batsmen's weak techniques will be found out.

On another note, I think Sammy and Rampaul offer absolutely nothing to their team. They need another strike bowler otherwise the Aussies will look for another big 1st innings score.

You do realise that the West Indies two best bowlers are injured right?

As for the WACA exposing poor technique, I wouldn't be surprised if Roach was able to do the same to a few of the Aussie batsmen tbh. If he's been able to hit them and hurry them up on these pitches imagine him on a Perth pitch.

TBH Roach is not a very big threat. He hasn't produced in the Gabba or Adelaide Oval.

That's what I am saying about him, he bowls fast and got good seam position, but shows no aggression and is too predictable in length.
